Thanks, when i was a little kid, I used to cry more about going to take a haircut then a dentist, had 3 wisdom teeth removed (that really hurt like...this is nothing compared to that). I'd cry more about the costs. :}

I only had one, but it was impacted. The dentist had to carve away at my jawbone to create an opening big enough to get the tooth out. Glad I only had one.

Well i think it's the same thing i went for the last time, but somehow in my mind i remember it as been over 100 euro, while google puts an average of 70-90 euro for it (still expensive). They are closed now so it's waiting till tommorow and call them.

My wendsday wasn't great, worked fucked me up. I fell and fucked up my thigh and had to stay an extra 2 hours waiting for a truck. it was broken on a highway and driver was nowhere to be found.
At least I get 2 more hours of pay for my trouble though.

Thanks, we are slowly getting to an American health care situation here (also charging hundreds for a simple procedure), where for those who can't afford it or barely they will get into money problems (while 15? years ago basic healthcare was still free for everyone).
This morning the papers said hospitals were out of money, insurance companies got billions profit, insane? yes.

It's actually easier to break filings on such and sticky candies, if only because you watch out more when you eat a hard one. Last time I had a tooth fall apart was while eating porridge, and the previous time was on a gummy something. :-/

Ugh that really sucks! I wish we could have shark teeth, they just go on and on and on(not that sharp though, biting my lip/cheeks too much already). 70-90 euro is a lot for that, I pay like 35 for normal without the metal ring thingy and 48 euro with yes I have holes every damn year

Yeah kind of a "flaw" in our design, same can be said for organ regeneration.
My dentist always scared me i'd would get false teeth at a very young age, couldn't get braces either because i wasn't brushing good enough" yet except my wisdoom teeth, i still got all of them, loads of cavities though.
Not really comfortable with the whole amalgam crap in my mouth (there are stories on how bad it is) but my dentist persists it's not bad at all.. Whenever i get the money i think i will get it all out, get them straightened, whitened, even if it cost 5000.
I think they make up a bunch of the cost, i know atleast that's how it goes in the hospitals.

They still use amalgam? I even thought it was forbidden. Mine got all changed into the white ones, they didn't fall/break any more after that thankfully. Whitened I'd love that too, if it was possible I would replace them all with unbreakable ones, though denture scares the hell out of me.
Hospitals are sucking ass, it's indeed becoming like America only the rich will get it. They make so many mistakes too and send you everywhere but where you need to go so it will cost even more. I really really hope this will change.

Yeah they still use it, we can get white too but that cost more, amalgam is the cheapest crap and probably why alot still use it. White also naturally looks better.
Hope so too, but i am afraid it won't (same as just basic groceries, gas, electricty, keep getting more expensive, things don't go up and down anymore, they just go up till it someday explodes)

That's a bummer. I know how that feels. I have some fillings (and have had a couple of teeth removed). It is not a fun experience having a filling break (heck, a tooth breaking, period!). I also wish we had regenerating teeth like sharks. Where if a tooth becomes decayed, the body "rejects" it and it falls out painlessly and a new one grows in its place!

Maybe a new dentist? Any dentist who tell you that amalagam fillings are okay is a bad dentist imo. Not to mention, charging you for a checkup when you have a 'dental emergency" - my dentist would never do that to me.

Broke my filling on a soft piece of tumtum candy (at first i thought i took a hard one which i usually avoid), because money is so tight and i barely used a dentist lately i turned off the dentist insurance part, thinking to save some costs. So now costing about 70-90 euro.
Feel no pain but a slight discomfort, and a bad taste in my mouth. Don't know if there would be space before the weekend either.
[Update] So i mailed them told me to give an estimate and if it was the same as my last visit to them, but they want me to get a checkup first which cost another 30 euro.
