part, again, maybe, of SG Labs 🌒

Geocaching /ˈdʒiːoʊˌkæʃɪŋ/ is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world.

that's IRL definition. here, you'll need a "geo" thing like a Map to "cache" (hide) your giveaway. but you can't obviously edit Google Maps for your (our) enjoyment, but you can still do it with My Maps:

https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/

there, you can create or chose Explore and make your own copy of Pokemon Nest Locations. i've been dreaming, and i'll keep on doing it, about living abroad, so my choice is just that:

100 Best Places to Live Abroad

take a look, beware only that's the Unedited one. (below you'll find the Edited version)

So, i've created a copy of that one (top Left Corner - three vertical points - Copy map) and named Live Abroad 100. within my copy i can edit pretty much anything, put links change colors and stuff. (in this one, i.e., you have already 100 spots where you could hide/write/link/color...)

Chosen the best place i can think of, edited a little and put there, the final part of this key: gone-(gonefireflies)

Live Abroad 100 (edited version)

The one i found is used.
Are there now 2 or is the first deleted ?

To the question if i like it or no.
That is a difficult question because i like the fact that it is new and maybe hold the cheating people outside (or at the same level as all other ones are too) but the clicking around is in the best case boring.
With a bad internet connection the infos of the places pop late up. So it takes long to look around.
People with a good connection will find the searched one(s) normaly much faster.

I'll take a look on my laptop because my phone is not the best place to click map points but that's pretty awesome.
Also, I hope you get to make your dream a reality and live abroad some day.

This reminds me of a nice puzzle a Finnish company ran years and years ago. Basically they had a webcam somewhere on this planet, and the person to make the most accurate guess about its location in the week or so the competition ran won a prize. I think they did it for three different locations or so. I greatly enjoyed it, I particularly remember trying to identify a city based on lots of cars having certain distinct colors, which I and a friend deduced would be taxis. So then we had to figure out where in the world do taxis look like that. Eventually we found the location, somewhere in Barcelona I think, but somebody else was more accurate.
