Well, that was nice. The bundle is now closed! Stay tuned for the next one!^

Hey guys,

I know a topic was already created but I'd like to reiterate it.

The IndieFort bundle is a new bundle by GamersGate to promote IndieFort, their new indie platform. Here's the link.

It costs only 5 euros (4£ or 6$) and if you wish to give more, all the extra money goes to the developers. Keep in mind too that the normal price would be 60 euros, and so you effectively save 55 bucks.

The bundle includes:

  • Cardinal Quest - a fast-paced 1980s inspired roguelike, with three characters to choose from
  • Black Market - a 2D game with spaceships. Become a trader, a pirate or a bounty hunter all the while solving an important question : Just who are you, and who's that guy in your eyepatch (robotic eyepatch, may I add). Combat is especially fun as you aim with your mouse and your bullets fly there. Mines are extremely hard to use as a result, for example (which makes them awesome).
  • Wanderlust: Rebirth - an Action RPG kinda like the former Legend of Zelda. Except here, it's meant to be played in co-op. Four classes to choose from, a 10 hour multiplayer campaign with up to 4 people, and believe me it's a blast.
  • Devil Whiskey - a game inspired by dungeon crawlers such as the first Elder Scroll game. Except it's made in 2004. And it still costs 20 euros, so we can safely assume they did something right.
  • Steel Storm: Retribution - nothing much to say; you take commands of a hover tank and shoot the bad guys. Everything explodes, and at the end of the day you know you've made a difference.

We also get bonuses as copies are sold; right now a developer thank you video should be coming, and we've already unlocked two soundtracks and a (free) game. Bonuses include two more games and a secret. There's also a secret bonus that's unlocked, but we don't know what it is yet. Alea Jacta Est.

And finally, Kenshi. To me this game is the reason you should buy the bundle... Here's why (source:

  • Original take on the RTS-RPG hybrid genre. No "hero" characters with artificially stronger stats than everybody else- Every character and NPC you meet is potentially an equal, and has a name, a life.
  • You are not the chosen one. You're not great and powerful. You don't have more 'hitpoints' than everyone else. You are not the center of the universe, and you are not special. Unless you work for it.
  • Freeform gameplay in a seamless game world stretching over 400 square kilometers. The game will never seek to limit you or restrict your personal play style.
  • Variation and possibilities of gameplay. Be good, be evil, be a business man, be a thief, live in a town, live in the desert, join the army, fight the army, travel alone, travel in hordes, build a fortress, raze a city.
  • Purchase and upgrade your own buildings to use as safe fortified havens when things go bad, or use them to start up a business.
  • Carry your wounded squad mates to safety and get them all home alive.
  • Dynamic, ever changing world. Support or hinder whoever you wish, or keep to yourself, the world won't stop moving. This is not just a "game", you are living and surviving in a simulated world.
  • Absolutely no Level-scaling. The world does not level up along with you, and the shops don't change their inventory to only items matching your level. At the start of the game almost everyone will be stronger than you, and survival will always be a struggle.
  • Realistic medical system that affects gameplay. A character with a wounded leg will limp or crawl and slow the party down, wounded arms means you must use your sword one-handed or not at all. Lose an eye and it will affect your field of vision. Blood loss means you can pass out, and the blood will attract predators. Exhaustion affects performance and is increased by equipment weight, weather, blood loss and thirst. Severed limbs will need expensive robotic replacements.
  • Intelligent AI that allows for characters to reason and work towards long-term goals and desires. Squads work together and carry their wounded to safety. Characters can be setup to take care of micromanagement for you.
  • Aid or oppose the various factions in the world while striving for the strength and wealth necessary to simply survive in the harsh desert.
  • Independently developed with no design influences, or alterations dictated by men in gray suits who have never played a game before in their lives.
  • Original game world. There are no fantasy-knock-off cliches. No magic.

Kenshi is still in early pre-alpha, but the dev (yeah, there's only one guy) works full-time on it, and an update is set for this week, in fact.

Can I redeem it on desura?

Apparently Kenshi can be redeemed on Desura since you receive a serial key, but the other games are standalone.

Wanderlust is the other game needing a key, and I think you can ask for a Desura key if you give them your GG serial.

I dont like buying standalone games if they are not boxed because if I buy standalone game I will forget about it. When I redeem it on steam I can see it or if I buy boxed games I can have it in shelf and see it and play it so buying standalone games is not for me. Only exception was Minecraft.

Damn, a bundle with games I actually want (I think all of them look really cool, actually!), but I have no money ;_;. But I'll take note of their names for now, and check them out in a few months. Thanks for sharing this!

It should come in a few moments, I don't see anything new yet.

Well, I might be looking in the wrong place... we're also supposed to have the developer thank you video, which was unlocked a few days ago, but there's nothing in my shelf.

There's also the OST for Steel Storm, if you click on the "IndieFort bundle 1" entry (that is, it's not under the newly added "Bonus" entry in your shelf).

Edit: also, Puckbang is free of charge anyway. It's available on the Game Maker forums. I... don't know why they offered it.

steam / desura key?
never buy in Gamersgate

It's all standalone. However I recall the devs of Wanderlust give out Desura key if you give them your GamersGate serial.

You can also download Kenshi as a demo on Desura and enter your serial, but you'll be forever plagued by the little lighning bolt. However you will be able to play normally and grab the updates

Nope. I admit that having no DRM is scary.

Kenshi looks really good, did the dev say anything about going to steam in any time?

Steam and Kenshi wouldn't be before a long, long time. He's basically got a demo now and I suppose Valve prefers finished games.
