Thanks to steamgifts, I wind up checking out tons of games I never would have given a second glance otherwise. It got me thinking... have you found any hidden treasures disguised as trash? I wanna know about your games with hilariously bad dialogue, terrible graphics but good gameplay, broken but fun, and whatever other random absurdities you've come across.

Have you ever enjoyed a game because it was "so bad it's good"?

I have seen people talk about Harvester that way, but I really like classic games like this and I actually enjoyed it a lot.

Everlasting summer was such game for me. It had overwhelmingly positive reviews and was described as deep and emotional masterpiece, so I gave it a try. It turned out so lame and boring that I hated myself for picking that up during the whole gameplay. On the other hand, the nonsensical pseudo-phisolophy gave me some good laughs and I kept going through all the endings, as I got curious how ridiculous it can get. Even the "mystery" was totally predictable for anyone who ever read/watched some good science-fiction movies. I guess that people who rated this game are just lonely teenagers who came for the boobs. Well, playing that game made me unfollow "Steam 250" curator, but gave me something to laugh about with friends ;)

"The Noorwood suit". Played it. Didnt understood it. Was pretty weird. It was actually pretty shitty... but at the same time awesome. I think its ment to be like that... but still.
Also, the soundtrack is awesome.

Ball of Wonder i think has been the first. it was so "so bad it's good" that i've sent it, as punishment, to a swedish friend.

i really dont mind playing intentionally bad games. reminds me of when i was a kid and renting snes or n64 games and it turning out be garbage but i kept on playing just because money was spent on it. but now i will play questionable games with my spouse for a laugh or with my kid because they (rip) genuinely enjoy some terrible games

These turds: Raven's Cry and Vendetta - Curse of Raven's Cry (The same game but re-released to hide the horrible scoring of the first release)

This game was so bad I was genuinely amused at how this could possibly be released as it was.

Timecop on the SNES. Gameplay was a bit frustrating, but it had hilariously bad motion capture and weak English,

Get a friend and play Shadow: War of Succession on the 3DO.

Then there's the Zelda CDi games.

Deadfall Adventures. If Allan Quatermain movies are ripoffs of Indiana Jones, this is a ripoff of the Allan Quatermain movies, just stupider, with slapped-on useless "RPG elements" (Collect shit to get % bonuses. Would work without it.) Also one of the contestant in the weirdest bugs section (disconnecting the camera from the character's arms in an FPS)
Alpha Protocol is an unbalanced mess of glorious choices and over the top spy action. Kind of unpolished, but so, so brilliiant. I love it.
Delay - A very indie 2D Superhot that is more like averagely lukewarm - AI and physics is there, but weird. But ... good kind of weird. It was awesome trying to play around the AI. Far from a masterpiece, but I have a special place for it in my heart :)

Many games with motion capture from the early 1990s fall into this category.
