Update on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 in the USA.
I received an e-mail from GreenManGaming this morning that says:
As you may have already been aware, there have some redemption issues with Konami titles in the US, specifically, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. We're pleased to let you know that we have replacement keys that will allow you to redeem your game successfully in your region.

Too bad the Revelations DLC is not in the Digital Bundle that customers outside the US got. It's the most expensive DLC. Not only could US customers keep their EU keys, they even have one more DLC now. Thanks GMG

Little glitch for Canadian customers, but they sent a followup email saying all Canadian customers should now get their key. Checked my email, found the redeem code and got the same 5 items as above.

They also said I could keep the original EU only key that wouldn't work for me.

Thanks to you all for sharing these info: very useful. I was about to buy the alpha bundle myself, now I am hesitant.
For trading purposes, it could be useful to know if the new keys delivered to US customers are ROW or US only and if the new US buyers still get the UE-only keys as a "bonus" or if this is true for early buyers only.

According to Steamdb, the replacement keys I received were all ROW. I don't know what GMG will do if you buy the bundle now. You should ask their customer support because this is all guessing.

At this point it would be great if GMG could provide ROW keys to all the customers, but I suppose this would not be fair to early EU buyers, who got one DLC less.

Restricted countries cannot be generalized as Asia because it also contains some SEA region countries (except LK) in the list of PurchaseRestrictedCountries.

Asia, SASIA, SEA are loosely used terms. So we have to consider how valve defines regions.
AFAIU region restrictions are based on currencies steam supports, rather than the geographical positions.
According to Steamworks Documentation, there is no region named as Asia or SEA. There is a region called South Asia which includes Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
We also recommend a discounted USD price for several South Asian countries where we don't have local pricing. This is presented as "SASIA-USD" in the pricing tools. These countries are: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
In this case, this sub is restricted to RU/CIS & Asia except SASIA .

So we have to consider how valve defines regions.
It's publishers that set up those locks, not Steam. Valve regions only matter for the purpose of Steam Store Gifting (which is 85% dead). (Steam currencies have nothing to do with retail keys.)
In case it helps you sleep at night, "RU/CIS" countries also vary based on publishers or the individual setting up the countries for a particular game package.

We may even have to drop the word "Asia" completely, since valve does not define a region called Asia and the geographical region Asia also includes countries like India which is not restricted in the aforementioned sub.
