DISTRAINT

Price is a young man who wishes to forge a partnership with a famous company. In order to achieve that he seizes the property of an elderly woman. Impersonate Price and find out what is the price of humanity. Go on a 2D psychological horror adventure – the story of regrets and dark humor.

10 Second Ninja X

10 seconds is all you need to finish each level… but is it really enough? Try your chances in time-limited combats against blood-thirsty robots. Can you complete all the 100 levels? We bet you can but it’s not going to be easy. Climb the ranks of online leaderboards and become the fastest ninja that roamed the online world!

Gloria Victis

Join the war between Ismirs and Midlanders in the low-fantasy medieval MMORPG game. Choose your allegiance, weapon and earn your fame as the most powerful melee duelist or eagle-eyed archer. Your future is in your hands – the fate of your nation depends on you.

SanctuaryRPG: Black Edition

Try a humorous and strategic turn-based dungeon crawling adventure inspired by Japanese RPGs and roguelike games. This title will take you on an adventure to shape the fate of the Sanctuary! You will play this game for the story – not for the graphics. So, who will you become? A valiant knight or an antihero?

Forgotten, Not Lost – A Kinetic Novel

In a medieval world, you take on the role of a farmer who suffers from dementia. Your memory fails as you start forgetting details of your life. Struggle to hold onto your memories, recall and relive moments from your past. Inspired by the developer’s experience, this kinetic novel will help you understand what dementia really means.

The only unbundled game is an MMO in early access made entirely out of flipped assets.

What flipped assets?

I donated to the game long ago before launch in an alpha phase. I haven't played the game in a very long time. I'm not saying you are wrong but are these definitely the same assets? I know the devs put in tons of time and the communication between the community and dev team was really good.. I'm really hoping that it's just not an asset flip. The game has come a long long way.. it actually is a good game from my experience in the past.

It looks like assets but I don't judge you or anyone for enjoying an asset flip. If they put in actual effort and added game play that's the good way to use assets.

I don't know from Adam here, though, so they needed to sell me on the visuals and trailer and it didn't jive with me based on how many other games I have that look exactly like this because they used the same assets. Since they are still in EA they might be able to alter things enough to make it more unique.

I understand where you are coming from. I myself am not big on asset flip games and normally don't support them and block them if I see them on SG. I don't even remember if it was 2014 or 2015 I made a donation but it was awhile ago. I didn't really look into asset flips back then. I saw potential for an awesome PVP game and with Archeage ending up the way it did I decided to donate to Gloria Vicitis. MMORPG.com did a video and an article on it. If you check out the old compared to the new and the update list you will see how far it's come. I can't speak for how gameplay is as I mentioned I haven't played in a long time but it looks so much better than before. The devs were really nice when I talked to them as well. Now if I didn't own the game and knew nothing of it and then saw your post there's a good chance I would probably treat it like other games that I found out were asset flips.

That doesn't necessarily make it an assets flip. A developer may purchase assets from the store and make his own game, that's fine.

An assets flip is when someone purchases something that's fully functional (a demo/tutorial, or assets that come with a game as an example) from the assets store and just resells that, with no more than some minimum modifications at best.

This doesn't look like an assets flip since the links you provided are only assets, they're not a demo MMO or something like that the the dev is trying to resell.

Why are so many down on this?I have no issue with it if they are using it to make a good game. They may not have the funds or resources for an artist and they pay for these packs.I do however have a problem when they are used for a quick cash grab like DH did.

Though since you state the game is in EA who knows but in the end if they make a good game and paid for assets I see no issue with it and even if they don't make a good game as long as some decent effort was put into it.I mean, after all, no Developer has a 100% great game resume.

Even Obsidian has that black eye of a game of Dungeon Siege III and can maybe even argue Aphpa Protocol

I think the black eye comes from other Early Access "MMOs" like this, especially Greed Monger, which ran away with a LOT of people's money on Kickstart and did not provide what was promised at all:

Well, that I suppose does not surprise me since we now live in a society where it easier to hate everything from past experience than it is to think you know not everything is bad just because a few apples spoil.

You would think people would learn from this instead I guess it just easier to turn into hate and distrust for everything to come no wonder this world is in such chaos.

"Asset Flipping" is a term that refers to the practice of building a game almost entirely out of pre-made assets with little original work

So if it is true they bought assets then let's see if they make it there own and not just plop it down for a generic look then we can talk about asset flipping.Though still I think then if they make a good game I don't see it as a problem we all have to start some place.

SanctuaryRPG is actually a great game if you like (or miss) the old ascii games. But in general, what a crappy bundle.

gave them a chance from the beginning, even if some monthlies were aweful (the 3rd & 4th) but now i'm done with them! unsubscribed right now!!
ps: if you did the same, don't forget to cancel payement from Paypal aswell. even if i desactivated it from G2A website, i found it active on Paypal! Careful..

One would presume their ability to bill you is shown as active on PP, not the subscription itself. It's indeed safer, but not technically necessary.

I would rather spend my money on the Indie bundle from Bundlestars. That is not to take away that there are a couple decent games in the bundle I just own one and I've never been much for Text RPG games.

P.S. this better be 1.50 at most at release or it's not that great of a deal

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

At 1.50 I might even pick it up for the mmo. I'm easily fooled buy decent looking graphics :P

I'm willing to bet it will be around the same price as the others and those stupid PP fees make it even less attractive on top of being G2A.So unless they make it super cheap or drop a really wanted game into the bundle I would wait for better sites to have them in a bundle.

At least they are trying but they are not going to dump the gray market end of things so no amount of effort to seem legit and trustworthy is going to do them any good as long as they have that market going. They also won't eat PP fees and you have to pay them on top off the price.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Right, I always forget about transaction fees. You are completely right and I suspect I would probably only spend an hour or so playing the game anyway :)

Permalink

Assuming you have people in your friendship circles not afraid of admitting their G2A usage, they might have spare store money and might be willing to trade its use to you for equal real money. Profitable for both sides. You don't have pay-in fees, they don't have pay-out fees.

I might have but I don't feel it's worth bothering anyone over something as trivial as this :) (It's also good as therapy to refrain from buying a game I'm slightly interested in lol)

They have no reason to, it's a monumentous cash cow.

Yes, I think most of us are aware of that hence why I said they are not going to dump it and that would be the only logical reason.

Similar to Humble Bundle, you get charged automatically every month, as opposed to a one-time buy.

I haven't subscribed to it so far since for me it's not really worth it. On the one hand, I usually already own most of the games, missing or wanting only one of them that I usually mange to get through trading. On the other hand buying a full bundle and trading the uneeded copies away is not exactly the best thing to do, considering that the keys have to be activated in a few weeks after the purchase (I think this policy still applies, someone please correct me if I am wrong), 2hich means that I would need to find interested people right away.
