Hmm - stuck on 1 across and 1 down. No clue on 6 across. (I put in canal but had to delete that, it never fit with the others I filled in). 6 across is awaiting 1 down but even then it makes no sense to me, lol.
Will keep working on it :)

Nice one. I actually stumbled on 1 across, did you mean "part of USSR full name: abbreviated"? Same in 6 across, I wondered how to fit 9 letters in 5 slots
