How does it look to you?

Remember:

Not all games will show discounts right away because Steam apparently uses different way of providing content nowadays which prevents the store from crashing all the time like it used to do before, but because of it everything refreshes slowly. Also, some smaller games appear as having 0 reviews when that's not the case. Check steamdb for ratings if needed.

I really like Darkstar One, not very well known, definitely underrated, still nice for a 10+ year-old game. There used to be a very nice deal to buy it for about €1,60 in a package with two others games ("Patricians and Merchants" pack), but they removed that pack. However, even on it's own, it may be worth considering for that price, especially when you have some leftover wallet money.

I bought Recettear, Rimworld, Defender's Quest and Cities: Skylines, thanks to the new SAR prices!
Also wanted to buy PUBG but they raised the price back to the normal $29.99 instead of their regional $10.49.

Steam regional prices are a blessing most of the time. I'm from Brazil, and I can't thank Steam enough for doing this. Sure, it brought bad things such as the trading restrictions, but still.

Unrest 90% off = 1.19€ http://store.steampowered.com/app/292400/Unrest/
A friend gifted me this one yesterday, i've been very nicely surprised by the quality of this game ! One run is about 2.5h. The fictive story in India ambiance is captivating, mix of politic and everyday life, following different character's short story. A steal for this price !

This starry midnight we make 75% off = 2.24€ http://store.steampowered.com/app/320090/This_Starry_Midnight_We_Make/
Usually i don't like visual novels. This one is surprising, the story about how you influence the fate of some Kyoto residents by growing stars is intriguing.

Draw puzzle 33% off = 3.34€ http://store.steampowered.com/app/664180/Draw_Puzzle/ Not very high discount but historical lowest
267 short puzzles in a simple and clean adaptation, you know it's the game that there is in some paper publications, you've to link the similar number and you get a drawing.

Milkmaid of the milky way 50% off = 2.99€ http://store.steampowered.com/app/544970/Milkmaid_of_the_Milky_Way/
Friend gifted me this one too yesterday... 1.5 to 2h long point'n'click. Very short but ambiance is fabulous ! As title said it's a story about a milkmaid. Can't spoil more !

I've been intrigued by Unrest but I remember reading somewhere that the ending was rushed or felt kind of abrupt or something similar. Would you say that's a fair assessment?

Yes that's right, ending feels abrupt. But 2.5h seems the good lenght and overall quality of the game is great... And it's just 1.19€.

Last chance to grab some games on sale everyone :)

I had a few euros on my wallet from selling tons of trading cards, ended up getting Expeditions: Conquistador and both of the Half-Life 2 Episodes since I only own them on a physical Orange Box and they were dirt cheap anyway.

I didn't buy anything, but I traded some old Humble bundle keys for games from my wishlist (Momodora, Telltale's GoT and Michonne, World to the west, Seasons after fall, ABZU and many others). That should be enough to keep me busy until christmas sales :)

by the way, EU to outlaw online geo-blocking.

The European Union has agreed on a plan obliging online retailers to make electrical products, concert tickets or car rental available to all EU consumers regardless of where they live.

Putting an end to “geoblocking”, whereby consumers in one EU country cannot buy a good or service sold online in another, has been a priority for the EU as it tries to create a single digital market with 24 legislative proposals.

It will also stop British sellers refusing to sell goods to Italy because shipments are either stolen or never delivered. This will create a few more complaints to the Italian government over its shitty and corrupt postal service.

The European Parliament, the EU’s 28 member states and the Commission have decided that they will allow EU consumers to buy products and services online from any EU country. The agreement applies to e-commerce sites including Amazon and eBay.

Companies will no longer be able to redirect consumers to a country specific website without their consent. Commission Vice President Andrus Ansip, responsible for the single digital market, said the proposal would put an end to unjustified discrimination for online shoppers.

The workaround for this is that consumers will still have to organise how to pick up a product if the company does not offer cross-border delivery. A canny online retailer who does not wish to play ball with the law can just agree to make the sale but will request the customer picks up the product.

“With the new rules, Europeans will be able to choose which website they want to buy from, without being blocked or re-routed. This will be a reality by Christmas next year”, Ansip said in a statement.

The proposal does not extend to copyright protected content, which includes music streaming services such as Spotify, electronic books, television series and movies. So Big Content has nothing to worry about. The parliament had hoped to include these services, but music industries warned that they would jack up the price in countries where such services are cheaper to punish the EU for daring to stand up to them.

The European Consumer Organisation (BEUC) argued that, by not including copyright-protected materials, consumer choice would be limited for people living or studying abroad.

“It is especially frustrating for consumers who belong to a linguistic minority and would like to watch series or films in their language”, Monique Goyens, the director general of BEUC, said in a statement.

The European Parliament and member states are expected to approve the new legislation early next year. It is seen as being enacted by the end of 2018.
