Quick question, why are your prices 6, 9 and 12 USD?, For me they are 6.96, 10.44 and 13.92 USD. I don't know if this has to do with my region (México), taxes or something like that.

Humble started taxing game bundles in Mexico a few months ago. However, store purchases and Humble Choices are not taxed.
So I'm pretty sure the tax is technically illegal here since our prices are supposed to be tax-inclusive (if you look at Steam, 16% of what we pay is shown as taxes in our purchase receipts) but how are we going to explain that to PROFECO?

In Canada (where I live)...there are taxes on bundles as well now...but what I discovered is that if you move the customized contribution slider to max level for charity, then the total sales tax amount decreases drastically (to only apply to the amount given to devs+HB itself).
I'm not sure if this applies to Mexico or other countries as well, but it's something to test out at the very least.

But will the bundle itself get cheaper? In EU humble cheats with always asking for the same full price - if you add much to charity, then the bundle is expensive with smaller amount of taxes, if you add little to charoty then it's "cheaper", but the taxes are higher, ending up costing the same. So they just lie about tax %, the whole.thing is just a price hike equal to your VAT, regardless how you share the money between charity or devs.

Yes, the total bundle price does become cheaper here actually (I already tested it). And so I'm surprised by what you described above for EU...yikes :o)

That doesn't work here. We're taxed on the total amount we're paying to Humble, not on what goes to charity.
Regardless of whether we pay $1 or $100, they're still going to add a 16% tax surcharge, which I still think might not even be legal according to our local laws.

Here ir's really questionable legally. It's along the lines of product 40€ product price + 25% tax = 50€. If you change the charity part, the ACTUAL BASE PRICE changes, so the lower tax % adds up to the same final price. So it's like 45€ price + 11.11% taxes = again 50€. So basically they change the base price of the product so the changing tax adds up to the [us price + hungarian VAT]. I wonder what our tax administration would think of a product that has a shifting price to counter the lower taxes of certain set-ups...

Really? Well that's very odd. Because where I am, I do still have to pay full sales tax on both store purchases and Humble Choice.

And very randomly, stuff can be cheaper in the store because of regional pricing shenanigans by some companies like Microsoft.

I have a friend in California who I send money to so he can gift me bundles and get around the stupid tax problem. Once I redeem the gift bundle, I get keys for my region. So yes, it would work.
