TL;DR: Raiblock is a cryptocurrency that is fast and feeless. It doesn’t control by government nor required user to type in their personal information to use it. So the f*ck don’t you want to sign the petition?

You answer your own question.
So not interest if you name the currency now Raidblock or whatever.... each that is really "indepent" are not welcomed from them.
When such a petition is successfull "made" the result would be "bad" (for the petition supporters) every time. Not worth the time and effort to try it.

I think Rai should concentrate on getting accepted on the major exchanges first though. But yeah I'd love to see more competing currencies being accepted, anything that takes the control of money from the banksters and puts it back in the hands of the people is a plus in my book. Of course volatility is an issue now, but that will decrease in the future with greater adoption and once the speculation winds down.

Bitcoin used to have free tx too. All altcoins are doomed just like Bitcoin unless someone figures out a way to deal with the increasing number of transactions.
It's a tough problem (no wonder it hasn't been solved in the almost 10 years Bitcoin has existed), but as far as I understood the Ethereum guys have set a pretty decent bounty on it. Let's hope they get results eventually...

Raiblock is a crytocurrency that provide feeless, instantaneous transaction. Yes, feeless, and just pure fast transaction. Basically, like credit card or paypal except the need to fill in your personal information or pay any fees for the third party.
Steam used to have bitcoin as a payment option, but due to its high fees and slowass transaction time (cough$10+ fee cough), they decided to remove it during December last year (sad times...). This due to their nature of POW and low blockchain size. BUT NOT FOR RAIBLOCKS! It’s based on POS, which means does not need any miner to power any transaction on the blockchain. Plus, it has high scalability, making the coin transfer from wallet to wallet in just matter of seconds. This would be ideal for your everyday payment, especially when buying games in steam.
If you still sceptical about it, here’s the faq (https://raiblocks.net/page/faq.php) and the whitepaper of it (https://raiblocks.net/media/RaiBlocks_Whitepaper__English.pdf) .
PS: Give Raiblock a shot, even if you think it is not worth being in a popular game platform like steam. You might find more than what you initially think ;)
