Could have just not asked them like what happened to a JRPG game a few months back. The developer told them in one of the subreddits they posted it to remove it as they didn't give permission for it to be bundled and it was removed a few hours later (it was 3 for $4.95 bundle when the lowest it had been was $12).

Beloved Rapture in the Build Your Own RPG and Fantasy Bundle back in August (the isthereanydeal bundle page also has a special message on the games info stating that it was removed at the request of publisher).

I get ya, but it kind of makes sense in a way. By having it right in a bundle, they get instant marketing and a quick influx of income. And, we probably end up getting the game for the overall best price, as it's likely going to increase from EA to full release. I wouldn't have known about the game if it weren't in this bundle, and I grabbed it. I figure if the quality is that good on EA release day, the chances of them following through to full release are probably pretty good. 🙃

True, but I can't imagine Steam would allow it if they knew about it. Their rules on price disparity is a bit weird, but actually launching a game on a third party site (bundle or not), on launch day, with Steam keys? Unless the dev specifically got permission to do that, I doubt they would be ok with it. The whole idea is that Steam is supposed to have the best price, or equivalent.
I was about to buy it myself for the price listed on Steam. It's game I've been following for quite a while. Had I not happened to checked one of the game price sites (deals gg), I would 100% have missed Fanatical had it bundled already.

Eh, maybe I'll grab a two-pack if there's no other interesting bundle coming out next month... but probably not. Squirrel Stapler was already wishlisted and I kinda wan to try Order 13 but that's mostly because of the cat, really. Both seem to be short games tho and $5 CAD a piece is more like a build-your-own-sale-price order than a bundle. I guess it'd be better to simply wait, I suppose they will eventually go on sale for cheaper than that at some point.
