I don't think that any restrictions applied to the key - purchase was made in Finland and successfully activated in Kazakhstan (KZ), which was mentioned in gift notification as "not available" country.

Of course cheaper is always better but HB being the only one to charge VAT is simply an illusion. Every legit and official store will pay VAT.
The reality is that Humble doesn't treat us worse than any other store now, instead they treated us beneficial previously and now they are just like anyone else.
Take the € zone. We just got used to Humble charging below the 1:1 ratio to the $.
Now we pay 12.12€ with VAT for this bundle, while the US pays $12 without VAT. Not really that different to Fanatical charging us 1:1 for ages.
So yeah, it's more expensive now. But the claim that Humble is treating us worse than other stores do, is simply not true. At least not for the € zone. Maybe it's different for you.

But the real bullshit that you only pay tax on the non-charity part of your purchase. You'll pay the same amount - in your case 12.12€ - regardless of how much you give to charity. Humble just juggles the price and tax to add up to that sum. Which means that they don't even have a real tax ratio, they just slap a percentage extra on it and lie about it being taxes. That's the part that irks me, the random numbers and calling it a "tax" while clearly not being that.

Well, Hungary has a substantially higher VAT rate. Means the price for the product remains the same, the country itself is responsible for price differences.
You are right about the sliders though. But it's pretty logical why they would insist on a fixed price regardless of the charity's share. If everyone adapted the sliders to the cheapest prices, publishers and developers would get nothing and this business would end soon.

Not sure if what Humble is doing in EU is legal, as they show my tax part to be (when calculated) only around 3%. But they should show 25% for my country. So they are either showing wrong tax or not charging correct tax. In both cases not correct.

Because the tax is not being calculated correctly for my region. Instead of being taxed on checkout, they just add the tax on top, which I'm pretty sure is also illegal according to our local laws.
The only reason I don't tell Humble is that the Choice and Store purchases aren't taxed and I don't want them to fuck with their prices too.
Edit: Also Steam charges us tax the proper way according to our laws. Not on top, but as part of the sale price.

True, in the EU they also would have to show the correct and final price immediately and not just at the checkout. Which they do for me. I directly see 12.12€ when I open the page with the bundle.
Maybe that's something they have to adjust for all countries steps by step, no idea.

Since the tax was added, I haven't been buying games as often.
The reasons are:
I feel like I'm losing money.
Duplicate games + additional taxes --> I lose motivation to buy.
If a game isn't worth paying the additional taxes for, I don't buy it anymore.

backpack hero, deathbulge, ava and haste were on my wl. only had VS from this bundle. I felt it was good value if I look at like I'm buying each game for $1.72

At first the only one that really jumped out at me was HASTE, but I gotta say that Deathbulge: Battle of the Bands looks pretty great. Hell of a soundtrack, what I listened to anyway.

I would keep most games except for ULTRAKILL (which I already own) and Creatures of Ava. I bought Haste for $17 off back in May, ended up refunding it. It wasn't that bad but it was disappointing. I thought it was going to be like Super Cloudbuilt but that was not the case. The procedurally generated levels were kinda lackluster and repetitive compared to the handcrafted levels in SCB.

Super Cloudbuilt, that's a game I won 6 years ago, I played it and till this day it's still the best parkour game I've ever played.

Bought and Humble gave me a Creatures of Ava key that's region locked(I'm in TW) and I can't redeem. xD Gonna have to contact support I suppose.
Edit: Humble basically told me "tough luck it's not available in your region and we're not gonna do anything about it". >.>

A really good bundle. If I didn't own Ultrakill already, it'd be an instabuy.
But with things being as they are, I managed to snag Deathbulge, Backpack Hero and Nidhogg 2 from reseller at some attractive prices instead.
Really want Haste as well, but 3D platformers are a bit hit or miss with me, so I'll wait for it to be bundled in some different game configuration. Fortunately, looking at Landfall's catalogue, they don't seem to avoid rebundling their games.
