How excited are you about these games?

[Buy] I was Driven Out of my no-buy policy by this bundles - seems to be worth it.
[GroupBuy] I'll rally again my Super GroupBuy Strikers team and score a pack.
[Skip] Now You See why I don't usually buy IndieGala bundles.
[Complaint] Only 5 games? It's getting less and less value for the same price...

Ganbare! Super Strikers is absolutely great.

I hope I can jump on a GroupBuy purchase for my second IG bundle ever, Cathedral is on my wishlist (and is Nuumonsters a PKMN clone? Gieb.).

This is probably the best Indiegala bundle I have ever seen. Every game looks interesting in some way (and I already had Driven Out WL-ed already). And at $3 it's almost 95% off, so there's no need to wait for those games to appear in a better deal.

Finally, Some Good F**** Games from IG

The first 3 games look pretty interesting. I can't remember the last time I considered picking up an IndieGala bundle.

to be fair, the bundles have been improved lately. i liked numonsters and cathedral, but seeing that the first one is still in early access and the second one might have a hard achievement (complete the game without armor), i'll put it on hold for now. i still got some games to play in my backlog anyway.

Hmmm it looks better than usual... maybe I'll try to hop into a groupbuy.
As always, thankies for the chart, Lilly. :3

They actually put more then one interesting game in a bundle, how many years has it been since that last happened?

Wow, a wishlisted game in an IG bundle, and others that look good to gift? Not bad, not bad!

Cathedral and Driven Out in a single bundle? With three more games that all look interesting for my tastes? In an Indiegala bundle? It's unironically their best in a long time, not like there was an high threshold but still.

This was my thought, too. Ganbare! Super Strikers was the icing on the cake. Only game I don't particularly care for is Now You See, and that's only because I don't like most horror genre-type games... though the soundtrack by Isserley probably redeems that entirely for me. Nuumonsters might be interesting.

Been awhile since I bought one of their bundles, but this is a great one. Driven Out and Cathedral alone are worth it, but the others also look good.

A cheap IndieGala bundle with 2 wishlist games? I am shocked

Some nice looking games in there, and I have enough Galacredit to get it for basically free. Now You See is the only one not interesting me.

Absolutely worth it for Cathedral, I've been playing it all weekend. A game far too good for a cheap Indie gala bundle.

Only six more days to go, it looks like there will be no happy time. :o/
Am I right thinking that Happy Hour happens when we're about halfway through the duration of the bundle?

Happy Hours are usually run around one week or two/three days before the bundle end data. Most of the HHs in the last 6-12 months have been two/three days from the end.

...with a massively inflated price (compared to regular HH) of $1.853 per bundle. That means ~$2 per bundle in a group buy once the initial bundle is factored in. :|

Just saw that the single purchase price also went up to $4.36 from $3.49. Was it done to increase the HH price?

Seems very likely.

IG always increases the price during HH, by around that much (25%). However, this time they've increased the gift packs by 150% over the non-HH price (from $14.83 to $37.06).

Still better than buying a single copy but wow, going to have issues with group buys if people find it too high.

Indiegala is going to shoot themselves in the foot if they keep this up. I highly doubt people will run to buy their borderline-DIG bundle at full price without a happy hour. And if they charge this much with HH on, it might still chase people away. They better just stick to their usual formula because their bundles really are barely worth it anymore compared to many years ago :(

Can anybody explain to me how it works? I'm trying to buy the bundle and I'd like to get just one extra copy, but the website kicks me to the homepage as soon as I confirm a payment option.

In order to get free extra gifts during Happy Hour, you had to purchase the bundle right after it launched, before the price increase.
Otherwise if you need only 2 copies in total, it's probably cheaper to buy the bundle twice, outside the Happy Hour since during Happy Hour the price increases.

GroupBuys work like this:

  • the host buys the bundle right after release ($2.99)
  • during HH they select x5 (for this bundle $37.06) which gives them 5 * (1 + 3 free) = 20 bundles in total
  • in the end the calculation is $2.99 (initial) + $37.06 (20 bundles during HH) for 21 bundles => ~2.05 per bundle

You would want to apply the same scheme and calculation if you purchase 'Just one gift' (instead of x5) which would give you 1 + 3 free bundles = 4 in total (excluding the one you initially bought after the release). I don't know why the price is $17.09, just like you would select "x2 paying more than" - could be a mistake and the price be adjusted during checkout. Or it could be that the price for this option is inflated on purpose - I don't really know. But either way, with 'Just one gift' you would receive 1 + 3 free. There's no option to buy just 2 bundles.

You can check all info about it here.

Also, if you want only 2 copies, you can try checking the GroupBuys forum in case someone decides to cancel their reservation, thus enabling a spot for you. In that case you'd get the bundle for ~2.10 (there's a 5% fee for the organizer). If you pay with PayPal, try to select a host that supports your PayPal region, in order to avoid extra fees.

I know I'm a bit late, but really thank you for this clear and complete explanation.
Also, it turned out that the "website redirecting me to the homepage when paying for the bundle" thing was a problem on their side, I sent them a message describing the issue and they solved it after a few hours.

I asked IG support about the unusually high HH pricing; they replied overnight:

The prices for HH are not a mistake, we have simply decided to revisit how HH works. Although prices have increased, you will still enjoy the benefits of great discounts during HH!

This very much sounds like they've decided to increase HH prices from now on. Or, at the very least, trial such an increase (so expect to expect to see similar HH prices again). :(
