The "match 3" games are fun for a couple minutes, but get boring quickly. I kind of wish someone would come up with a variation on those, kind of like HOGs but with match 3 minigames instead of hidden object scenes. Hmm... I think I'd like that a lot!

there are games that use match-3 as a combat mechanic, like gems of war (f2p) or puzzle quest, and some lesser-known ones, like bret airborne (has a demo), ticket to earth, oafmatch, terminal squad: sentinel, etc.
there are also more casual games, like last resort island or runefall and the newly-released sequel that add a lot of variety through minigames, quests, etc.

Seconding Puzzle Quest, that one's great! A few others - Fairies vs darklings, Hell Girls, Ironcast.
One of my all time favorites is 10,000,000
Then there's games like Huniepop but those aren't everyone's cup of tea.

One “match 3”-ish game I really enjoy is Tomb of Tyrants. You move columns and rows instead of individual gems, and it’s all wrapped in a dungeon-building, hero-slaying strategy layer. There’s a surprising amount of complexity to it, but it’s quite possible to play casually too (which is what I usually do).

My key for Mundus - Impossible Universe 2 from this bundle worked fine. Like all other keys from this bundle. I had problems with the first game Mundus - Impossible Universe 1 from Cursed Kingdom bundle.
