[Buy] Why are you looking at me like that? Knowing how to repair a train is an useful skill nowadays!
[Have] Fanatical Simulator Bundle was a much better deal than this. I'm glad I went for that one.
[Skip] When it comes to mechanical stuff, I have the precision of an elephant. These games are not for me.

Fanatical should stop making bundles with "Sims" in the title while at the same time not including anything from "The Sims". That feels very much like clickbait. Why not be honest and call it the "Giant Simulator Bundle"?

Um... "sim" is an EXTREMELY common abbreviation for "simulator." And the plural would be "sims."

Good?

Great!

Honestly, I don't care whether that abbreviation is extremely common or not, when I read "Sims", the first thing that comes to my mind is "The Sims". Maybe it's just me, but to me this title feels like clickbait. They could've used "Simulator" just to be clear, but they didn't and it's not the first time either.

But that's like expecting to find Cyberpunik 2077 in a Fanatical Dollar Bundle.

The Sims will NEVER get bundled. Never as in not in a gazillion years.
The whole male population could die this very moment and Sims would still be one of the most profitable gaming franchises that ever existed. There's just no reason for EA to put them in a Bundle. One of the reasons for that is that Sims players (a bit like FIFA players) are not really core gamers and don't mind spending several hundred dollars for their 1 game of choice because they usually don't play other games.

The Sims 3 was bundled some years ago in an Origin bundle(Humble Origin Bundle) on HumbleBudle.
Games from that bundle:

Dead Space 3
Dead Space
Crysis 2 Maximum Edition
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
Medal of Honor
Mirror’s Edge
The Sims 3 (plus 2 DLC packs from The Sims 3 Starter Pack)
Battlefield 3

And the reason was for charity.

And the reason was for charity.

Well, I guess rather a nice and juicy tax deduction for Humble but that's a different topic.

Ok, I stand corrected then. I assume that was back then when Origin was trying to buy market penetration. I still wouldn't bet for it to happen again.

That's not quite true, at least "The Sims 3" has been bundled before. It might even make sense for them to put TS4 and some minor expansion or stuff packs into a bundle just to get people interested in buying more. The whole franchise is a very modular crash grab after all, so even selling some parts for cheap in a bundle might still raise sales on the other parts.
Note, I'm not saying it's likely we'll ever find these games in a cheap Fanatical bundle. I'm just saying the title of that bundle is misleading to me. But maybe that's just me ;-)

Yeah, I guess the could do a bait deal for the base game to sell more DLC but I assume if they were going to go that route with The Sims they would have already done it.

I think it might be just you! :)

The Sims 4 might be bundled someday, but as long as people are still buying the DLC packs at full price -- and people are absolutely still buying the DLC packs at full price -- I don't think EA really sees a need to take part in a bundle.

Oh my! Those aren't even simulators. And, as I said before, it's not the first time they pulled this off, just look here. I really feel tricked for having looked into every one of these just to find out they've got nothing to do with "The Sims".

Sorry, but that's expecting every bundle that mentions autos or cars in it to include Grand Theft Auto, or every bundle that mentions "dungeon" to be about Dungeons and Dragons. Sims (and simulators) is a very common term covering a wide array of games and software. EA doesn't have exclusive use of it.

As I said, it's probably just me. :-) And yes, I would expect something titled "Grand Theft Bundle" to include some kind of GTA. Of course, I know as well, that there's other kind of sims and that EA doesn't have exclusive use of the term, it's just the first thing I would think of.

I assure you, sims were a genre long before The Sims.

Arguably the (great?) physics-sandbox games Last Leviathan and From The Depths are in the broader 'sim' genre.

The real problem is that Maxis/EA couldn't find a better title for SimPeopleInATown than The Sims. You would find that the first franchise title SimCity was named the way it was because it's a city (building) sim.

Demolish & Build is a surprisingly fun little game. Giant Machines was a little disappointing. Robot Squad has some potential but it didn't really hold my attention for too long. Don't know anything about Train Mechanic Simulator.

Great.
