I felt the same way about Vampire Survivors, but it made a bit more sense when I learned that the dev's past experience was in making slot machines: the game wasn't made to be good, but to be addictive, to get people to stop playing microtransaction-laden skinnerboxes, and I can respect it from that perspective.

I played it and enjoyed it, it's not very good for repeat playthroughs though. Once you get the mechanics down, it's very repetitive.
