Description

Definitely too tired to write something, but well, at least it's over. Really hope everyone enjoyed their ride here, if you want to read about my personal struggles this year i laid them out here. Also watching more anime, so if you have any recommendations feel free to suggest something, can be any genre, i only scratched a sufrace so far, but yea, there is lots of stuff i need to watch i guess 😅

Merry Christmas everyone and happy new year!

Thanks for coordinating the awesomeness bron! Happy Holidays and best wishes for the future!

this anime recommendation list got longer than I intended... guess that happens when you have been watching shows seasonally for over 12 years and not seasonally for even longer.

I will always always recommend Spice and Wolf for no particular reason :D. Either version is fine however the remake is going to continue(S2 soon!) and is more faithful to the LN's. anilist

If you want something long with ALOT of world and character building(large cast of characters and none of them become irrelevant), World Trigger is great... it can take a while to get going but once it does its amazing. anilist

while far from a masterpiece Symphogear has a special place in my heart, Its finished airing entirely so no worries about forgetting what has happened for future seasons and is just a fun show overall. Think magical girls but tech powered by song. anilist, I have rewatched this a couple times even. Probably the favorite soundtracks to listen to on my phone

Yona of the Dawn, this one is finally getting a season 2 after 11 years, no better time to recommend it!

and yet another romance anime recommendation section, this time featuring a deaf girl A Sign of Affection, and another Hi Score Girl. believe it or not it is not a harem, The Quintessential Quintuplets

while the sources ending is supposedly a train wreck, what has been animated is not! Oshi No Ko, watch episode 1 in its entirety if you feel like dropping it, its as long as it is for a very good reason.

Shakugan no Shana, one of my favorite animes featuring a Tsundere.

Golden Kamuy, its a very enjoyable watch, I will leave it at that

7th prince, overpowered character done right

land of the lustrous this is one I feel like people are starting to forget about.

I need to rewatch this one to confirm old me has the right rating, I enjoyed it enough to buy the Blu-Rays at least Dimension W

this is one that I probably overrate, but Chtholly is among my top 5 and that didn't change with a rewatch at all. Suka Suka... or just read its long title

this one probably would have gotten more seasons if it did not air in the same season... and days with a show that was basically the same but slightly worse in the story telling and such, but slightly better in the general visuals(asterisk war). Chivalry of a failed knight

cautiously recommending this as it touches on darker emotions(depression and such) quite a bit, its a very good show March comes in like a lion

one of the few older shows I will recommend, its pace is a little slower but its story is great Monster

and ofc some of the hyper popular shows Demon Slayer, Fate(personally I say start from Zero... ultra fans might say otherwise), Attack on Titan, etc...

and now the not sourced from japan section, while watching in Chinese after alot of Japanese anime takes some getting used to, I recommend it.

The King's Avatar, this is all about an e-sports pro, if I recall right the English sub is readily available on youtube officially, I haven't watched the latest season... but that's because I am falling behind on everything >>

Link Click I won't say anything here, its worth watching

this is far from a masterpiece, its just fun Daily Life of the immortal King, also not much fan service and no harem!

and now the... its not quite anime but anime adjacent and still worth watching

Thunderbolt Fantasy! I am annoyed the latest season wasn't properly brought to the west, need to look still in fansubs or something exist for it yet. Still a few seasons and movies with at least subs.

My anilist, probably alot more I could recommend, I tend to rate high(off personal enjoyment, not all 10s are equal :P), anything I gave at least an 8 is likely worth a watch.

Symphogear is just pure unadulterated fun. So incredibly stupid yet kind of clever in its own way, and very well executed. Great show to watch with friends.

I sincerely appreciate your outstanding efforts!
Happy Holidays!
By the way, here are some titles I thought of right away that I recommend.
Your watchlist is so huge I haven't been able to check what you've seen, so there might be duplicates—please forgive me.

Bakemonogatari
GNOSIA
THE GHOST IN THE SHELL
Delicious in Dungeon
Made in Abyss

I did read your personal commentary the other day, i actually had a massive wall of text ready to send, but i gave up, reason being, it would probably not help you in any significant way because in the end, it was me mostly confirming that you aren't alone out there, and that people have similar experiences to yours. But also i didn't want to punish you with a massive read. (it was probably 6 or 7 times the length of this comment)

Long story short, you are, more or less, a slightly younger version of me. Key difference between you and me, from what i noticed, is that you seeked professional help, which is something i did not do. My way of overcoming my problems, which were very similar to what you went through, was a long ass time of slowly healing. But during that process, i sealed myself away from other people, i was already hard by nature to show emotion, but now i'm literally what i would say "cold stone heart". I can't show real emotions because i feel like i can be lied to again, which would lead me to go downhill again. This is why i changed, this is why i avoid human contact unless i 100% trust that person.

Anyways, for animes, i don't watch that much anymore, i usually stick with mainstream stuff, or bigger hits such as:
-one punch man
-mob psycho (similar to one punch man but instead it's psychic powers)
-solo leveling
-dragon ball
-naruto/boruto
-bleach
-one piece
-jujutsu kaisen
-vinland saga
-demon slayer
-my hero academia
-attack on titan
-cyberpunk edgerunners

less popular stuff that i liked:
-akame ga kill (not popular, but still interisting, i recommend watching anime and read manga as they have different outcomes. One of my favourite animes/mangas. It was also one of my first animes to watch outside of some of the mainstream stuff years ago and i feel like i nailed it with this one)
-prison school (anime and manga are nice, spicy/fun/weird)
-highschool dxd (spicy stuff, but also epic "powerup" related moments)
-to love ru (lower quality highschool dxd, can be cringe, but if you want the spicy stuff...)
-Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san (anime/manga, for some reason i like this kind of stuff)
-thunderbolt fantasy (as suggested by carenard, this is not really an anime, but it's still something epic to watch, it's unique and great at the sametime, i usually dislike puppetry/dolls, but this was something else)
-hellsing (classic gory anime, if you like vampires/monsters/crazy stuff...)
-highschool of the dead (incomplete/abandoned classic but still great to watch)
-kill la kill
-little witch academia
-no game no life
-samurai champloo (simply just a masterpiece)
-trigun

Some of these should be too obvious but there should be something listed here you haven't watched. I've watched a bunch of anime years ago because it was the only thing keeping me busy, gaming was on a low, so i went towards anime instead. But since then, i've only watched some of the main stuff. From the less popular stuff i mentioned on that list, i feel like you should give akame ga kill a try (both anime and manga, that is, if you like the anime, then go for manga). Thunderbolt fantasy is also pretty great, samurai champloo and hellsing are must watch, if they are your style.

Thank you so much!

Haven't watched anime in ages, so my recommendation may be dated, but Serial Experiments: Lain was a great one!

Everyone has good suggestions that I see. Bebop, Vinland, Trigun, stuffs. I will suggest old things. Bubblegum Crisis. Akira used to be a must watch (though not my favorite). Ghost in the Shell is interesting.

Such a great event. Thanks to you and everyone who helps in huge, medium, and small ways. 💜

I haven't watched anime for years now, but go for Code Geass, this stuff was on the top of anime world for decades
and if you are starting this journey go for SAO, somehow whoever I recommended this to, was very happy about it and always ended up liking it.

Thanks for ga and Merry Christmas!

Hunter x Hunter is fun, Berserk is haunting (original anime/manga only), and many classics exist. :) I think those are two of my favorites.
