No pressure to answer everything or anything else really. Take your time (backlog too), relax a bit. Ive also had a rough year (a sequence of them really) but i learned over the years were generally the ones who put the greatest pressure and load unto ourselves. Just enjoy the holidays, forget about any issues for now and you will feel refreshed later. And heck no matter how rough things were theres plenty to be happy about - the 12k raised even the backlog. Im glad i put behind me the time i looked at my backlog as some kind of failure- now i see it as a trove. No one have the time to play everything and playing something just to check off a list can kill half of the enjoyment.

Try playing whenever you feel like at the time. Follow your mood, focus on having enjoyment in your gaming time... thats what worked best for me, so now i jump between genres instead of letting a long game burn me or anything like that, then i return later... its much better that way. And then the backlog becomes a menu that can fit any ocasion.
I also like to use steams 'play next' semi random sugestions and other means of pulling random titles, that can be fun too.

It's sad to hear what you've been through. I have anxiety-depressive disorder with terrible non-stop anxiety 24/7. It took years to find meds that worked, then they were taken off sale and it took a few more years to find other meds that work worse and cost 12 times more. With constant thoughts about suicide for all those years. So, yeah, I know — it sucks. I managed to get through mostly because I wouldn't trust my old cat to anyone else and because I didn't want to be a bad example to other people with health issues. For me — things get better, but I still have difficulties with being relaxed. When I don't do chores, work (or work too much), study or walk — I always feel the tension and fear that anxiety and apathy will return. Another fear is that due to war, the economy, some stupid policies or whatever else the meds I take now will vanquish from sale too. Still, it's manageable. I've stopped thinking about suicide and started to enjoy my hobbies again, making plans for the future, dreaming, hoping — you know, all the normal stuff people without depression do. Just keep going, keep trying. If you're persistent — there is always a chance to turn everything around. I hope things will get better for you from now on!

I often feel bad for people with alcohol and drug addiction, but trying to help them, if they don't really want to be helped, is always pointless. And the toxic relationships with drug users aren't exactly helping while recovering from depression. So, it's better to completely cut or minimize all contacts with such people.

By the way, I also take escitalopram, it's the only medication (except tranquillizers) that helps me with anxiety without giving a ton of severe side effects. The mood generally improved on it as well. It's the main med for me now and it works pretty good. But, yeah, it could take at least 2-3 months to start working and a half of a year to get full effect, if I remember correctly. I know some people get diagnosed with ASD at 30+ or even 40+, especially in my part of the globe, but it's good that you found a specialist — by better understanding your features, you can greatly improve the quality of your life and avoid a lot of problems.

Empirically, I am family! Don't believe me when I say I have children. There was no way I could have a child with an alien, so even though I knew it was a lie, I would leave it alone and live my family life. Also, I have been accused of embezzling a large amount of human currency that I have earned, using it to play with men, and even filing for a divorce settlement, claiming that I was violent when I was away on business at a time when the TV news reports that mothers and children get many subsidies for being single mothers. I have seen a woman from a mysterious planet earth who claimed that I was violent and even filed for divorce settlement.

Well, I have a log of my life where I go to work at 8:00 in the morning and come home at 23:00 at night, and the claims of cheating, etc. were found to be false and there was no alimony, but I did not claim it because the strange woman's children would be unhappy if I claimed the opposite. It's been over 20 years since then, though.
It is important that your own charity is not a cause for concern.
You should live a life that fits your stature.
Then you will surely see that the almsgiving at the time was a catalyst for a good life on both sides.
In my case, though, it seemed to be premeditated and the woman was wearing down my pension payments for a year and a half.
There was no way I could have children. The child itself is a lovely thing and I for one wish her a happy life. I regularly wipe strange women from my memory.

It seems that there is a saying, “People know how to be civil when they are well fed and clothed.”
I think it's easier to start with things that are within your means when you feel you can afford them.
