The reason most of the civvies cling to life is probably that they never considered whether there is a purpose. There is one purpose in life, and that's experiencing; fun, but hardly a body ever realizes. Had I not too many an unfinished business - and heaps of interests; also, the hopes for some nascent means of permanency of self by means of say, CNS transplants - I'd have offed myself a long time ago. The sole satisfaction of living to spite the society doesn't get you very far. Yay, nihilism~
