It's Alternate Reality Game. Like some games would have puzzles that you would work with other community members outside the game to solve, usually requiring more than just what's in the game.
No first-hand knowledge, but one review said, "Inscryption leaves a lot of loose ends that are apparently either left to be tied up later, or are tied up in other places outside the game entirely."
It doesn't mention puzzles, but that doesn't mean there aren't any AR puzzles.
I ran across the info when reading about how the Romans celebrated Saturnalia for the week starting the 21st on the solstice.
I find Thanksgiving to be themed on gluttony, and Xmas to be a holiday themed on greed.
Instead I try to focus on the Solstice being the shortest day of the year, and spending the following week with considering the wider backdrop and nuances of our environment, and finding crafts for decorating, and donating my time to help anyone I run across in need.
Baking some fun treats and sharing them makes for a great way to say Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas, and now my new fave Hapyy Mythras Day! as it came before Xmas, and far from when Jesus was likely to have been born.
I feel like I have to try for this. Maybe I'll try the demo first, though, and see if I like it. I'm normally not a fan of horror, but love deck-building and like escape rooms, haha.
