My DOTA goes to update and apparently when it finishes updating there is a virus, so i have to download it again ,repeat. My anti virus says steam.exe(evo.gen) suspicious malware detected? Why Steam? Why a virus?

I bet Origin wouldn't have gave you a virus. GO EA!

No seriously though, what kind of virus symptoms are you having?

No virus symptoms only my antivirus blocking the update which makes me download it again.

Probably, like others have said, a false detection. Might need some new AV if it's tripping out over Steam.

Probably just a false detection or something.

Just whitelist it; it's highly unlikely it's actually a virus.

Are you using Avast! by any chance? I hear that others have got that as well, so it's most likely a false positive (My Kaspersky didn't say anything).

Avast is one of the best AV's available, and you don't have to pay for it. I've been using it over 10 years myself. Noobs who complain about false positives in relation to Avast usually don't know the difference between a virus alert and a PUP alert (which they now have disabled by default to avoid confusion from people who don't read the actual words printed in the popup box).
