MAYBE I will get all of my salary earned during my internship doubled in January. Which would mean I'd receive a bonus of 1250 Euros; 250*5.
IF (yes, capitals are necessary; they're part of an arcane ritual to summon luck) that happens, I would like to buy a new PC. And, probably, a monitor, as I currently have a Dell E177FP.
Ideally, I would spend about 800 Euros on this new PC - but, I have no idea what a realistic price would be, and theoretically I would have 1250 Euros at my disposal. Possibly 1500 even, counting January's non-doubled salary.
But, what would I buy? I have completely no idea at all. I just want to be able to play games such as Skyrim, Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, Planetary Annihilation... And anything that will be released in, say, four years time? Is that a realistic time scale? I don't care about ultra high super duper graphics with 64x Anti-Aliasing - really, were it up to me, the best graphics of games would resemble Fallout 3's or something - I just want to be able to play games. And to play games in the future, I figure I'll need to have a PC that is currently rather good and modern / new.
So, I'd say something like 'I want a top of the line PC', but I'm not looking to spend thousands of Euros just to be able to play games on ultra settings. Simply being able to play them (now, and in the future) is enough.
I know the above is rather confusing and vague. But I have faith in you, oh mighty people of Steam Gifts! Other people have so far suggested the below (which is British, although I live in the Netherlands, but eh, let's see what's a good PC first; price is flexible enough):
Intel Core i5 4690K 3.5GHz Socket 1150 6MB L3 Cache Retail Boxed Processor
EVGA GTX 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0 4GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card
MSI Z97 GAMING 7 Socket 1150 HDMI DisplayPort 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard
OR
Asrock Z97 Pro4 Socket 1150 VGA DVI HDMI 7.1 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
Thermaltake Smart SE 630W Semi Modular 80+ Bronze Power Supply
Crucial 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz Ballistix Tactical Memory
Seagate 2TB Barracuda Internal Hard Drive (optional-ish, don't know yet)
Crucial 240GB M500 SSD
Arctic Freezer I30 Co Intel Cpu Cooler for Continuous Operation
LG 23MP65HQ-P 23" LED IPS HDMI Monitor
Thanks in advance!
