You should buy a headset for music and one for gaming. These are really really good.

Plantronics Gamecom 780. Period.

http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-GameCom-780-Surround-Headset/dp/B006ZS5ATM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344416358&sr=8-1&keywords=gamecom+780

You won't find a better headset in this price range. Seriously, these things are amazing and made to not have the faults where cheap, and even super expensive ones do.

The center of the archway is not the connector point (#1 cause of split breaks in headsets)

The earpiece covers aren't vinyl (#1 cause of gross ear sweat)

The sound is amazing and truly noise cancelling

The on/off and volume controls are not RIGHT next to each other

The casing holding the electrical components is strong as fuck

The mic clarity NEVER, ever, EEEEVER crackles

And the best thing, both earpieces are on their own swivels held by METAL. Basically when/if you take your headset off and set them down with one hand, the swivel absorbs any weight distribution, which prevents them from breaking off the archway.

Honestly, if I ever manage to break these somehow, I will still buy another pair. These things travel with me daily in my backpack and have no signs of wear, no pulled cords, no shortages, nothing. For $60, nothing beats these. Even that $100+ shit.

VMOD FTW. Made of metal and they have a warranty that after it expires and they break next pair is 50% off with trade in. Also they don't require batteries for sound isolation which it reduces outside noise by 80% , so you can still hear that roaring fire you started because you forgot to turn the stove off. And add the AntLion as a mic. Have logged over 350hrs now using both and shit fuck I have no problems they get better with time and more comfortable.

I personally am using the creative labs tactic wrath 3d blaster http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826158155 and the logitech g930 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104399. both are wireless, and rather decent. I personally am very hard on headsets and these have lasted me more than a year each which is by itself rather amazing.
