Hello fellow gamers!

i'm searching people for a steam group i just created and would love to give some of you the chance to join it! Keep in mind that most my giveaways will come from humble bundles or other type of bundles. So in case you get those anyways, there is probably no need to join, since we probably share the same games.

now the rules, cuz the group is closed off.

1) Don't be a d*ck

2) Follow steam and steamgifts rules

3) Be level 3+ on steamgifts [www.steamgifts.com] (or know me personally/well online)

4) Actually play the games you win.

5) Be rather active in overall steam (see in the info below)

6) If you don't follow rule #1 be aware to be kicked out faster than you can think.

Also, be aware that maybe not everyone will be taken in, and i dont want to add more than 250 people for now. Maybe 500 if alot of people join. I want a rather small group to give a high chance to people to actually win!

Applying:
1) Follow the rules and join the group -> https://steamcommunity.com/groups/mahrysgiveaways
2) tell me your favorite animal and why
3) let me know a passion/hobby of yours
4) name a game you love and one you hate (the "hate" part will not limit your chance, dont worry!)
5) the last/best book you ever read
6) tell me a funfact about ANYTHING!

Info: Once i have at least 50-100 people i will start a group only GA! i will try to keep the more valueable/popular/expensive games to the group GA instead of the open ones.

Hi!

Not too active these past weeks on steam as I've been more bsy than usual with real-life stuff, but here we go anyway:

1) applied!
2) I love the galah, an Australian bird that can be mistaken for a pigeon at a distance because of its grey back... But as you approach you realize it's actually more cockatoo-shaped, and when it turns around to look at you, flashes you with its bright pink chest! A very multilayered experience.
3) Filling mini-questionnaires on forums is just great.
4) Love Blasphemous, hate Hollow Knight (I know, I'm in the minority)
5) Last book I read was the Old Man in the Sea. It's very fishy.
6) In case of a zombie apocalypse 90% of the taps in NY would still be working because the whole system is gravity-based and doesn't need human activity to function (read that in a novel so not sure if it's factually true, but it definitely is a cool fun fact!)

Hi! I couldn't find info on what "Being active on Steam" counts, but I'll throw my name in the hat anyway.

By the way, do you have a timeframe in mind in which you expect people to play wins? I usually try to play 1-2 SG Wns every month plus going through my regular backlog, but usually prioritize older wins so this could be an issue. I just want to be transparent about that before anything else

Favorite animal: Octopus. They are one of the most intelligent animals out there, in particular considering their brain size and the branch of evolution they come from. The more I read about them, the most fascinated I get
Hobby: I recently started bouldering. I thought I wouldn't love it, but now I prefer it over rockclimbing as you don't have to worry about ropes and belaying. It's a thrill
Games: I love Breath of the Wild. I thought it would be an ok game before playing it, but it completely blew my mind how open the experience was, and how satisfying it was to keep playing it. I have over 90 hours on it, one of my top playtimes of all time, and I boot it up every month or so for a day or two just to have fun. It's such a great game. On the other hand, I don't like Bioshock. I didn't play it when it came out, only many years after the release, and I felt it was a poor spiritual sequel to System Shock 2, one of my favorite games of all time. It's more action focused than the predecessor, but feels very tacky
Books: Last one I read was "Foundation and Earth", number 5 on the Foundation Trilogy by Asimov. It was okay, the original trilogy is a lot better than the spinoffs
Fun Fact: While it was very easy to develop green and red LED's, the blue LED took many decades of research and billions of dollars to develop. It's all about the energy required to make electrons switch from energy bands, bla bla bla, but fascinating to know how the chemistry of elements impacted the development of such things!

Can I apply?

All good, don't worry to much. I just want to see that you played the last game you won when you win the second or so. Everyone has stuff to do, and i know how hard it can be to find time for gaming!
So don't worry!
So sure, apply.

Thank you thank you! I've been definitely focusing more on playing my wins than on entering each and every GA. I appreciate your kindness :)

Favourite animal - ring-tailed lemur. Partly because they are far more intelligent than their small brain size would have you believe, and partly because they look both creepy and adorable!
Passion/hobby - I really enjoy cooking, particularly finding new recipes from all over the world to try.
Games I love - The Tomb Raider series (yes, even Angel of Darkness), Classic Doom/Doom 2, the F.E.A.R. series, Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Games I hate - I don't hate the series, but a really good way to convince me not to play a new game is to compare it favorably to Call of Duty. Does that count?
Last/best book - The last book I read was The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd. The best books I've ever read are The Cracker Factory by Joyce Rebeta-Burditt, Don't Sleep With Your Drummer by Jen Sincero, and Strangers in Paradise by Terry Moore.
Fun fact - Beatrix Potter, the English writer who penned the beloved Peter Rabbit books, was also an amateur mycologist. In 1895, she developed a theory of germination in fungal spores and wrote a paper detailing her conclusions, but later withdrew it after realizing that some of her samples were contaminated.

1) Did it last. Just to be a rule rebel ;)

2) Hard to pick one because dogs! Octopi! Elephants! Dolphins! Gorillas! but the Raccoon is my Totem animal. Very smart and very crafty... also with the dark circles around the eyes (insomnia has its perks... not really) and yes I know they are trash pandas but that shows how smart they are: we destroyed their natural habitats. Did they die out (like Pandas)? Nope. They adapted. Crafty I said.

3) My passion is cooking (and generally playing with my food) but since I do that for a living, my hobby would be the guitar.

4) Lots of games I loved but I'll go with Mass Effect (I played it maybe 5 times in a row). Genius games on all levels really.
I don't hold grudges with games so I mostly remember the ones I loved but I played Yakuza 4 recently and hated it. So disappointing.

5) Last one was Chain-Gang All-Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah. Pretty brutal but a deeply humanist look at the prison system from a speculative fiction perspective. It's pretty good.
Favorite book(s)? Robin Hobb's liveships trillogy. If you like Fantasy, it's a must-read. It's part of a bigger universe of 19 books that are all amazing but you can read those 3 on their own. They're thick books but you'll wish they'd never end.

6) There are way more stars in space than there are grains of sand on Earth.
A sobering thought? Maybe. We are specks of dust in the vast universe but then maybe what troubles us is not as bad as it seems.

Cockroaches, because they can survive a nuclear war.

3) let me know a passion/hobby of yours

I love and hate this game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/277680

5) the last/best book you ever read
The Twilight Saga.

6) tell me a funfact about ANYTHING!
I lied to 4 out of 6 answers.

6) Bananas are berries, but strawberries aren't

1) done!
2) Rabbits! They are very cute, quiet, and cuddly. Also they are adorable when they chew things because of their long whiskers
3) Watercolour art is my current hobby. Also photographing lichens and mushrooms.
4) One of the first games I ever played was Bastion and I really enjoyed its soundtrack as well. I really disliked Slice of Life because at one point in the game it is almost impossible to proceed to the next stage and after dying hundreds of times I deleted the game.
5) I recently read a sci fi Star Trek Novel A Stitch in Time based on the events after Deep Space Nine. It was excellent.
6) Amazonian river dolphin males are pink!

1) Shall do and have done!
2) A meerkat, really funny little animal. Most funny while standing up and swiftly looking around.
3) Local politics, as a Councillor in my city an am busy with it alsmost every day.
4) Most fafourite is the Metal Gear Solid series. Already playing it from the PS2. World of Mixed Martial Arts 3 must be one of the most annoying games ever for me. Just don't understand what so fun about it.
5) Last book is, Its ok to be angry about capitalism by Bernie Sanders, the man keeps getting me hooked.
6) Did you know the skin is the largest organ of the human body?

2) Favorite animal at the moment is Golden Retriever. They are just so friendly and cute.
3) Not too many hobbies these days, so I'll just say playing video games.
4) Game I love: Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. Game I hate: Call of Juarez: The Cartel
5) Last book I read was "The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide," by Jenna Fisher. Best book I've ever read is probably Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut.
6) Fun fact: If you were driving at 75 miles per hour, it would take 258 days to drive around Saturn’s rings.

1) I have applied to the group sir. I'll follow the rules of course
2) My favourite animal is dogs because they give you unlimited amount of love.
3) I really love progressive rock and metal. I go to concerts a lot. Even though we don't get many big gigs at Istanbul, I try to catch every group that come up
4) Funnily it's the same game for both of the questions. I really love Dota2. It's complex it's really deep on mechanics and really unique game. The thing I hate is it brings the worst out of the people on ranked and it can get really toxic and you chain queue and tilt. Nowadays I mostly watch the pro games if I have time.
5) One of the best books I read was Home Deus by Harari since he discusses how society get created and how religions and states gathered people together to live in a dense place.
6) I have a lot of fun facts about Prog scenery but I wanted to give a fact about cats and dogs at Istanbul. In Istanbul there are roughly 150k cats and 130k dogs. They really comfortable and sociable with humans. Many foreigners are surprised with the number and friendliness of them
