He asked why you started each word with a capital letter. You didn't understand the question, so I provided you with a handy explanation. Apparently you still don't understand, oh well. I care about the content more than about grammar, but I concentrated on the matter at hand. I've already commented on the hurricane subject in another thread, fyi.

They are all names ... so it makes sense that every one of them start with a capital letter :)

My brother is alive and well in San Juan, still without power. I have been on edge all week.

He and his place (and 7 pets) are okay, just helping friends at the moment. He says everyone is in a pretty good mood all things considered.

A report I read estimated it could possibly take 2 or 3 months to fully restore power in PR. Apparently the whole power grid was poorly maintained and extremely fragile after years of neglect as a result of the ongoing governmental debt crisis. Hopefully your brother can stay safe and find a return to normalcy soon enough.

Yeah, it's pretty dire for parts of the island. Luckily, he lives near the Metro/Condado area of San Juan so his electric grid and water supply are usually top priority.

That said, he's actually trying to fly out today to meet up with my dad and I for Loufest this weekend 😄

Ahh, hopefully he can make it out. The weather's supposed to be absolutely perfect here this weekend. Have fun. :)

He just reported boarding the plane, woo! I'll only be at the fest for day 2, will you be attending? Would love to buy you a beer!

I will not, but I appreciate the sentiment! :)

Hope you guys have a blast. Considering the circumstances, I'm sure you'll all be happy to see each other!

Good to hear. It sounds like Irma dodged around a little bit so that PR didn't take a direct hit from the winds next to the eye wall. That probably saved hundreds of lives.

It really was such a lucky break, that late change in trajectory.

I live in Houston, so we took a direct hit from Harvey and lost a lot, but we're safe.

My thread on this :)

There's a link in my thread...the JJ Watt foundation is legit and safe. Pretty easy to donate. Guy is physically out in the community every single day working to help people.

I got a buddy in Houston (well, he was ...) who was posting photos on Facebook as it happened. Some pretty scary shit, if you ask me. His bed was underwater and he had to sleep on his dresser. When he called 911, they asked him if he was on his roof and not to call for emergency assistance until the water was that high.

Glad to hear you're okay, bro.

Meh. I live in New Jersey. I'm not expecting much. And if the shores do get hit, Christie BETTER pony up this time.

Edit- Hurricane's generally don't screw with NJ. They know better. Sandy was the exception.

Yeah, and I bet if you get hit this time, you'll be able to deal with it better than Sandy. That was the big problem with that storm...it really wasn't that bad of a storm compared to what hits the Southern parts of the US all of the time. It's just that it was a really unusual phenomenon for Jersey, and the government wasn't prepared to deal with it, and then was kind of making it up as they went after they found themselves in a bad situation.

Hopefully, you won't have to deal with it at all and you'll get missed. If not, I'm betting that everyone will know what to do this time.

I'm blaming Trump for all this. It's his fault all this is happening because he pulled the US and our money out of the climate change summit.

Note- This is a fictional rant and should not be taken seriously.
