Actually, I did not demand for anything, but if you need to perform a number of actions to buy, then this is definitely worth mentioning.
And yes, I am not an active user of GMG, and even had no idea that when buying GMG credits can not be used, because it is the main feature of this site, as their prices exceed the price on Steam directly.

the email you are registered with at gmg and the one you used while voting should be same.
while claiming the game, type your already registered email and a username(if you already have one, type here or enter a new one)

Ended up casting some votes and getting the game. The process was a little annoying, in particular because it wanted me to log into Playfire, but insisted that I used a password of 8 chars or less. I ended up changing my Playfire password. Not that it's bad having a longer password, but it's an annoying inconsistency.

I did everything and got the code for the discount, it showed up as $1 but I accidentally canceled order, added game to checkout again and now the code no longer works... :'( I guess they don't want my dollar

That sucks,maybe you can find someone who will get it for you for paypal,since the coupons on tied to the account,though strange it would cancel it out like that.
Maybe if you wait a bit it will work anyhow best of luck i would help you out but i bought the game to add to my account...
Though you can also try and make another steam account and another gmg account and link those 2 to get it,worth a shot.

I found a game that I have installed that has an steam_appid file in it's folder. I changed that to the Bioshock Infinite appid (8870) and when I launched the game Steam says I am playing Bioshock. Now I just need to find out how to tell when I get the $1 back on GMG.

Didn't get it, the code worked, just no CC, tried paying $1 with bitcoins, but looks like that payment option is nowhere to be found. Cancelled all. SIGH why they have to do this? Also, PlayFire won't let me log in. Support doesn't reply. GG, you guys go ahead and play Bioshock for me.

Giveaways for this game have been disabled by SG support because basically the game is given out for free (because you get your money back as GMG credit once you launch the game), so that's that.
Maybe wait for the support to resolve your issues. They are known for taking good care of their customers.

Yeah but consider this:
- I don't own ANY bioshock game, still considered to giveaway something I don't have for myself
- I couldn't pay with bitcoins as I thought I would, despite GMG advertising it as payment method, there's no way to add it.
- Playfire doesn't let me log in, think I may have been banned or something, so no, I won't be getting any credit EVEN if I'd play the game (which again I don't own).
So SG can lock whatever they deem necessary, it's just another drop of blood coming of my arm that I wont get back.
