So anyone can tell me something about it... I want to buy but I don't know if I'm going to enjoy it.

I have enjoyed playing Binding of Isaac, FTL and others roguelikes, but some people say it's almost impossible.

Here's a review of Sword of the Stars: The Pit that TotalBiscuit did in March.

It's a roguelike. A turn-based dungeon crawling RPG. I find it very fun. It's similar to Dungeons of Dredmor, if you've played that.

For the record, I wouldn't call Binding of Isaac much of a roguelike. It's like calling Super Mario Bros 3 an RPG because you can increase your lives and equip different powers before entering a level. I think of Binding of Isaac as a twin-stick shooter with randomized levels. Awesome game tho. Top ten.

Binding of Isaac and FTL are not roguelikes. SoTS The Pit is, like Dungeons of Dredmor. I will recommend the latter; The Pit is a hassle with weapons/ammo and the inventory management is sub par. Still a fun game, but get DoD first (if you havent already).

The difference is: in The Pit, your turn doesn't play out at the same time as the enemy's unlike Dungeons of Dredmore. Does that still make it a Roguelike?

Yes. It's still turnbased.

Looking for food in the game is REALLYREALLYREALLY!!! annoying (it pretty much destroys the game), but the game is still fun like any other roguelike. It's much slower than Isaac and it's almost turn based. If you can get it dirt cheap... get it, that's my advice.

I'm totally loving it, and hell no, it's really enjoyable, no where near impossible or unfair. If you want something unfair, try Hack, Slash, Loot
