They come out too fast to beat them all in a timely manner and the new ones are always too shiny to pass up. :<

I dunno.. I used to consider myself a gamer but now it feels more like a collector.. Got 183 games and played nearly all of them but most of them just maybe 1-2 days or so and others just for cards.
Steamdb, 340 games though.. Probably that damn free game macro -.-'
Hours on record 1,906.5h (41.0h last two weeks): 1.9k hours in about a year and a half lol.. Hardcore is my middle name :x

both, got a 100 games on steam, and even some more on consoles. I also buy quite a few collectors editions

I want to be a gamer but right now I am game collector because my rig can't even run 70% of the games from my account
Total games in account : 267 (f2p games not included)
Played games : 44 (f2p games and games played via achievement manager to farm trading cards 'not included')
Single player completed games : 5/44
F2P multiplayer games played : 4

Started out a gamer, became a collector thanks to one-key-for-all-games bundles. >.<

Both. Nearly 400 games bought in 18 months. And I don't buy bundles. My steam account shows that i've played 240 of those, but most of those probaly just went idle waiting for card drops while at work or something like that. I'm guessing i've actually played some 30 of those.
But then again at this rate, I'm pretty sure i'll never get bored in my life :)

youd be suprised
sometimes having too much feels too little.
you end up staring.. what should i play/watch/listen too next?

I know what you mean. But it kinda works for me. I just started my own business, so I've been narrowing my game time to a little, and dedicated only for a few games (namely Skyrim, SuperHexagon and a few others). But having to choose something to play among hundreds of games sounds like a good kind of problem to me :)

I'm a graphic designer, illustrator and web designer. 6 months ago i quit my job and started my own studio. I work with a php developer and recently teamed up with 2 other guys to start making mobile games just for fun. Perhaps next year we manage to put something on Greenlight as well, 'cause I really don't like mobile games.

I consider myself a gamer, but I'm also a collector.
I've been slowly accumulating games digitally, duplicating the games I originally purchased 'new' on physical media. In many cases I finished the game and added it to my library just because I could get it cheap or free on Steam, GOG, Desura or even Origin.
I have hundreds of PC and console games going back decades. I have original games on 5.25" and 3.5" floppy discs, CDs and DVDs, many even with the boxes. I also own most of the major game consoles (and a couple oddballs) from the 70's through the 00's with hundreds of games. It's still fun to break out the old Dreamcast and play a round of "Sonic Adventure 2" or "Hydro Thunder" with the kids. :)

mix of both really as I like to get certain games and I want to play them, it's just that these days I can't find the time.

Its hard to be one without being the other.
There just isnt enough time to play everything unless you live with your parents and never stop playing.

Well.. I'm both.
I buy too many games that i say to myself i will play sometime... after i finish Metro Last Light Redux.. but then there's Max Payne 1 and 2... and Skyrim.. and Fallout 3... and then GTA V is gonna come out and i already pre-ordered that... but i also have Bioshock 2 and Infinite...and GTA: San Andreas i haven't completed either...
You see my problem?
HELP ME! I'M DESPERATE :(

I'm a gamer with very little time to play games. Been playing Dragon Age Origins since 2 months.
But, I'll buy games and keep them in my library believing that someday.......

I used to collect games, but I had a couple of games removed simply because I didn't want them in my library any more. Now I'm slowly trying to decrease my backlog while doing uni at the same time. My goal is to finish the story modes of all my games (if applicable) just before I graduate.

So, I've enjoyed playing games since my early days of childhood. At 2 years old I was put at a computer to smash keys on the keyboard, and transitioned into coordination and games. Needless to say, I've always been one to enjoy gaming. Lately, I've been asking myself if I'm really a gamer in the sense, or if I'm more of a game collector. While I play a game here and there, I just looked at my Steam and GOG libraries as it's easy to see how many titles you have and how many have been played. I'm a bit shocked at the results...
This is just my digital libraries of Steam and GOG. I have hundreds more PSN titles, PS1/2/3, Xbox, GameCube, etc. games I've never played either.
So, are you a gamer or a game collector? (Yes, it is possible to be both.)
