Would pirating War Z (or whatever its new name is) count as theft?

Just because something is shitty doesn't make it not technically illegal to pirate. Some of the more notable copyright crackdowns were over movies like The Love Guru and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

So, i downloaded Pax Imperia: Eminent Domain cd image, installed it, install patches, downloaded a cracked exe... and started playing it. Am i a pirate now?

Actually try the game before making assumptions, I for one enjoy the hell out of the game and for $4? Totally worth it.

Its even worse than regular piracy in this case. You are still giving attention to the title that doesn't deserve it at all. Bad publicity sells the game is what makes me sad. We all should just forget about it once and for all.

if there is no demo and you want to check out the game for don't waste money and you crack it,it's not considered piracy to me

But you should try Dead Z , which is game from the source code of War Z , and its free , so its kinda like a "demo" , because if you like Dead Z you can just keep playing it ^_^

I don't see anything wrong with it. I pirate games all the time. Not because I don't want to pay - I just don't have enough money to get all games I want to play. And I don't want to spend 60$ for game that is shit.

I don't generally agree with pirating games, I think good games should be rewarded. Cases like The War Z though, go for it, they deserve to lose out.

After years as I pirate, opposing piracy and coming to terms with it, this is my stance:
