Finally! This always irked me, lol. Wait, it still pauses every download each time you start a game?

This just appeared on beta client, I guess/hope they will add the global option sometime. Still it's an improvement and now we have a way to "fix" this when devs forgets to enable the option.

finally... hated it, that the downloads stopped automatically while playing offline games :(

Seems like steam is really working on the download section and it's feature! Now what we really need, is a scheduler, so we could schedule the downloads to start and stop at certain times of the day!

Needs multi-downloads and global settings. No way I'm going to do each game setting manually.

For those that wanted a global option, in the last update of the beta client:

• add global setting to allow downloads during gameplay, and change the per-app settings to be global/allow/deny.
