Saw it after my post, but since it was a giveaway on a different site and that thread is almost 1 year old I don't think it makes much sense to bump it.

Just thought it was worth giving some credit to the user that bumbed the thread. :)

Can someone please add the game back to the giveaway list (as no CV of course) so that people stop making giveaways for this as Guns of Icarus Alliance?? Points are at a premium these days and to enter a Guns of Icarus Alliance giveaway that actually ends up being for Guns of Icarus Online is a complete waste. People shouldn't have to wade through a minefield wondering where the false/misleading giveaways are because the game is not in the list and you sure as hell can't depend on users to follow the proper guidelines.

The points are technically not wasted because when the incorrect giveaway is deleted, everyone will get their points returned, but yes, I understand not wanting to use the points on incorrect giveaways if you could spend them somewhere else may miss other giveaways you could have entered.

Points are only refunded if the giveaway is deleted by a member of the staff and not the user, unless this issue was fixed (doubtful). Otherwise the points are lost. This also does not cover a situation where the giveaway is made for the wrong game and it is never deleted, whether because the winner incorrectly marks it as received or it slips through the cracks for whatever other reason.

Where did you hear about points not getting returned when a user deletes a giveaway? I did not know about that.

From numerous personal observations over a long period of time. I have lost points this way in the past on giveaways that were subsequently deleted by the user. It was more easily noticeable on the higher-point giveaways of course. If it was never fixed then it has a much bigger impact now than before due to the change in the point generation system.

Points never use to get returned for any deleted giveaways. The change was just made last week and now all deleted giveaways return points, even over the point cap. Thread
You can also go over the point cap when removing yourself from giveaways or when you are automatically removed when you win.

Points were always returned for giveaways deleted by a member of the staff, so it's actually not new. I have personally observed it in real time on numerous occasions so I know what I am talking about. Thanks for the link though, it sounds like (maybe) they fixed the issue I mentioned after X number of years.
The rest still stands though.

I didn't know that, I didn't think any points ever got returned for any reason unless you removed yourself from the giveaway. Either way, all points should get returned now, even if the giveaway is deleted after it ends.

Which time is it that this game is free? Couldn't they just convert it to free to play already? :P
