Hi everyone, we're testing out some pages for Steam groups. See the below as an example...

http://www.steamgifts.com/group/SJ7Bu/sgifts

The top of the page displays a few general stats for the group.

  • First Giveaway: When the first giveaway for the group was created.
  • Last Giveaway: When the last giveaway for the group ended, or if a giveaway is open.
  • Average Entries: The average number of entries for a giveaway in the group.
  • Contributors: The number of unique users that have contributed one successful gift or more to the group.
  • Winners: The number of unique users that have won a game from the group.
  • Gifts Sent: The number of gifts marked as received from the group, and the corresponding value. If a giveaway is for multiple groups, the value is divided. For example, if I created a $10 giveaway open to users of Group A or Group B, then each group page would show $5 when that gift was received.

The sidebar has four pages, giveaways, users, stats and wishlist.

  • Giveaways: As expected, this lists the giveaways available to the group. They're ordered similar to profiles, with coming soon giveaways first, then open giveaways, then closed giveaways.
  • Users: This page lists SG users that are in the group according to synced data. If a user hasn't synced in the past month, they appear faded out in the list to signify they're inactive. The table shows the gifts sent and received to the group from each user, and it's ordered by the difference between those values. Similar to above, this takes into account giveaways for multiple groups, and if I created a $10 giveaway open to users of Group A or Group B, then I would see $5 as my sent value for each group.
  • Stats: Displays a graph of giveaways created per month by the group.
  • Wishlist: You'll see a list of the top wishlisted games in the group. To improve load times, the results are estimated. The site looks at the last 500 users online in the group, finds their wishlisted games, and extrapolates the results for the entire group. For example, if a group has 5,000 users, and we see our sample group of 500 users have GTA5 wishlisted 8 times, then we assume GTA5 is on 80 wishlists for the entire group.

Hopefully this will allow groups to better manage their users. If you'd like to see any other data, let me know. You'll be able to view the above page for all of your groups in the next day or two.

Edit: Group pages are now setup. You can find the links to them on your account page. Or, if you're viewing a group giveaway, you can access the links there as well.

Looks great! Thanks CG!

A small suggestion... it'd be nice if you could sort the user stats page (in ascending/descending order) using the different column headings.

sounds awesome! although I imagine this will enable more of the "gib invite for gibways plx" types, unless of course they are private only to members :)

That seems rather damn nifty, thanks.
Where would I look at other groups' info besides S.Gifts? I tried linking to groups from the ones I have synced, but all I get are links to SteamCommunity.

Hi CG,
is it possible to have group data available as a JSON file?

Creating a JSON file is pretty easy. See this code:
http://pastebin.com/18N77HpM

I would love to be able to have an easy and low serverload way to get this info.

Interesting info to show on the JSON page

  • number of giveaways
  • list of giveaways
  • status of giveaway (open / closed / cancelled)

Interesting info to show on the html pages:

  • Total number of giveaways that completed successfully (with a winner)
  • Avg number of giveaways / month
  • Number of non-bundle vs bundle games

Sort options on the User tabel would be nice.
Also the number of games received, won and difference is showing with 1 decimal (1,0) while there is no decimal needed here.

thanx cg.
can the admins of the group be allowed to manually remove the users who purposefully don't sync their profile to sneak in group giveaways even after they are kicked?

Fade out comes into effect after a month of not syncing, but you need to have synced in the past week to enter giveaways.

One thing that would be very useful is a group wishlist, telling what games are the most wished for and by how many members.

Similarly, a list of owned games with the number of users owning them would also be useful. (One could simply search the list to know how many members already own a game before making a giveaway for it.)

Oh, group wishlist, good idea, I'll have it added shortly.

CG, I noticed a minor bug; the "Last >>" option is missing in the Group page, it only shows "1 2 3" .... up to "Next >". However, if this was intentional, then kindly ignore.

Right now the Last button only appears in paged results across the site with 100 pages or less. Certain pages on the site take longer to load the further you extend into the results, so it's setup that way to limit how frequently people jump to the last page, while still making the button available in smaller result sets. This is one of the main reasons most sites don't include the button in the first place, but instead have load more, or just previous and next links. That way they avoid users going deep into the result set, and also avoid an extra query to count the results.

Appreciate the clarification. Also, will there be a "Group" page (mainly the wishlist functionatlity) for whitelists? Such a function would help alot when you make whitelist only giveaways (so you no longer have to visit each person's steam profile). Other than that, everything looks great. Thanks CG!

Woot! That's great. I'm guessing that for a group with less than 500 users the wishlist will have the actual amounts?
