HI guys,

I have a question.

I just noticed that when a person needs to join they need to have 100usd worth of games, my bro im pretty sure has more than that yet it keeps on saying he only has 84.95 usd amount of games and cannot join..

he has gta v, xcom2 and fallout 4 the three of them bought at full price and even more games bought at discount im pretty sure all of it amounts to 300usd even at discount so why can't he join yet??

can anyone pls help me

Link to his Steam profile? Those three games should qualify him.

I'm not sure if that's how it works, but my guess is that OP's friend has access to those games through family sharing from a relative who does have those games.

i didn't notice he didnt have that ON STEAM, he has hardcopy, he didn't tell me beforehand but ANYWAY.. even without those two he has more than enough to pass the needed 100 USD from that account..his purchase history indicated his games are worth more than 100 usd...

Games from bundles do not count toward that 100.Also the boxed version of fallout 4 still uses steam and the box version actually does not have all the files a way to help combat piracy so you will need Steam to finish downloading the game.

The same for Xcom 2 it is Steam works so it requires steam regardless if you bought it retail or on Steam.
GTA V on the other hand has a steam version and social club version and only the Steam version can be bought on Steam all other versions use social club to download.

So either you are misinformed or your friend is a liar or a pirate if he is playing it.as it should still show on his account if he bought the games in a boxed version or if using family share it should still show hours logged and chevos unlocked...GTA V is the only one that depends on how they purchased if it will show on Steam or not only buying on Steam gets you GTA V all other versions are social club only but even the Steam version needs social club to play just uses Steam for updates and download

That hard copy cannot be on PC then, as your little list above is Steam exclusive on PC. Or hard copy as in hardly copied from a torrent file. :)

So... what about these bundles(them alone made it past 100usd):

Borderlands
Sanctum
Dungeon Defenders
Payday
Saints Row

and he has some pretty cheap stuff bought as well. and he's actually a blood relative aaaand the gtav and fallout are actually boxed games as it is standing in the cabinet.... i have no idea about the xcom2 though

All of them were in bundles. Some more than once. Not to mention that if they ever were on a sale at 85% or more, they are automatically exempt from being calculated against that 100 USD requirement.

The moderator is going to say the same thing everyone else is saying. Games that have been in bundles and/or given away free do not count towards the 100 you need.

And if they are not on steam they do not count towards the total either because steamgifts bases everything off of steam accounts and if it doesn't show up on the steam account it doesn't get counted.

Of the US price, which nowadays translates to 80% sale on Steam with the Russians in the mix.

Let me try to be simple then:
Is the game on this list? https://www.steamgifts.com/bundle-games
then it won't be counted towards that 100 dollars. Simple as that. You can buy thousand of games until the cows come home, if they are on that list, he will never get into this site.

...and this list also:
Games disabled for GAs

Also this is not a complete list but its close to all the games that have been given away free which also don't count towards the 100 figure needed.

That's the trouble with having gta V, you have to have gta V.

That rule works for lots of games.

Uh, does he own them ON STEAM? Maybe you should check that first.

And if the site says he needs 15$ worth of games more, can't he simply buy a non bundled game on sale? I mean, so many games would qualify for this (most recently Octodad, or Crypt).

The Orion Project has been free, so it does not count. If your friend really wants to join, don't buy cheap stuff. Most $1 titles on Steam have been in bundles or have been free. Go for 1 or 2 $5-$15 games at -75%. Check if they have been free or bundled before you buy them!

If you want to check if a game was free, it is always a good idea that you try to create a give away. If the game is not in the list, it most probably was free once before.

Edit: It was free, it is not any longer (afaik).

Just buy Stardew Valley, Rocket League, The Culling, Rust, Enter the Gungeon, Factorio, Transistor, Bastion, or something similar. If you want discounts, check out the trading section and trading threads/profiles from users here.
