Also getting http://www.steamgifts.com/bundles/ back would be nice.

did you mean this: http://www.steamgifts.com/bundle-games

they're not solely games tho. there are packs and dlc and such.

4769 total games on Steam, but don't forget the bundle list includes DLC and double entries due to packs and stuff

Sorta, the old one was mostly text, all on one page and could be ctrl+f'd so you could easily go through a list of games. With that you'd have to just type each one and search because the page function for a list that long is worthless.

Instead of banning those games can't you just make them give 0CV instead? There had been so many fake giveaways with My Lands DLCs, Deadbreed DLCs, Marine Sharpshooter, etc with people willfully or ignorantly listing them as other things.

It's still better than people creating fake giveaways isn't it? I have 140+ names of these people on my blacklist now. They all have positive contributor levels now because of those fake giveaways.
Those "4 pages" would be invisible to many people anyway, since those are free games that almost everyone would have. Those who don't have the free games yet would be made aware of the free giveaway by that sudden flood, instead of wasting their points on entering for free games.
On top of that, all those games were only free for short periods. Permanently banning them means people who miss those giveaways have no chance of winning the game ever again in the future. Some giveaways -- e.g. Warlock Master of the Arcane, Receiver -- only gave links that were valid for a short period, such that hoarders wouldn't be able to give them away now. There's no reason to keep those games banned.

On the old site at least, floods like that would impact site performance, so better to disable the game and suspend those who don't care for the rules.
Also, when you have hundreds of giveaways like that, all for the same game all ending together, support gets overwhelmed with re-roll requests and reports for people winning multiple copies.

An expiration for games given away free would be good - there's quite a few on the list that are on my wishlist. It would probably have to be a long-ish wait time, otherwise you'd just simply postphone the floods. Opening bid starts at one year... how many people would hold onto a key for one year and a day and remember the exact moment it would be eligible for giving away again? They can still be 0CV gained, further reducing the number of people posting it. just a thought.

speaking of wich and sorry to bother u for this i havent gotten a reply on wether the people who gave the free tinyubuild games[such as not my robots ,boid etc] away to gain cv will have a free pass for this as i can delete some of my reports than :)

I agree. I have 2 games I bought on a bundle. Already have them and didn't know they were free once. Now I can't create a giveaway. 1 of those games was on my wishlist and was given to me. Probably there is someone out there wanting the game and never got it for free. Maybe that person doesn't know it was free once and is waiting for a discount to buy, just like I was before I got it as a gift. If we could create a 0CV giveaway we wouldn't have so many unused keys.

But bobofatt! You forget that many people aren't the sharpest spoons in the knife drawer! Unfortunately, people still think it's fine to try and give away those games, so perhaps an explicit, straightforward and comprehensive list could be helpful.
I'd say it should be pretty low on the priority list, and not only because it's a labor-intensive task. Perhaps something to consider for the near (or distant) future, though.

What is a pretty bad solution for the problem.
Instead, ALL of the games should appear in the list, and make the non-wanted ones unselectable, if someone click those, some red mouseover text should appear above them, explaining that the game is not allowed to give away (and why or link to guidelines).

This is definitely the best solution in my opinion

If you don't mind me asking, what's inhibiting its implementation? Low priority, disagreement among staff?
I hope that change does occur. It may improve the system significantly. A red disclaimer in parentheses could also appear within the box stating that this game could not be given away.

Yes, it would be nice to have a list somewhere.
It would even be more nice to be able to give those games out for 0 CV.
If you are worried about spam it might be introduced first only for private giveaways and group giveaways. But I really would like to give my group some games from that list to those who don't have it yet (and have it random rolled by SG).
Here is a small list anyway of banned games:
Aerena - Clash of Champions
Afterfall InSanity
Canyon Capers
Chaos Domain
Dawn of Fantasy: Kingdom Wars
Dino D-Day
Frozen Hearth
Gun Monkeys
Ionball 2: Ionstorm
Memories of a Vagebond
Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi
Q.U.B.E.
Racer 8
Realms of the Haunting
Rush Bros.
Shadows on the Vatican - Act 1: Greed
Space Hack
SpaceChem
Tropico 3 Gold
Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space

I agree, we should still be able to give these games away.. just not get CV from them. Maybe have a popup when creating the giveaway that says 'You will not receive CV for this giveaway. Please refer to http://xxxxxx for any questions' or something.
Also, The Cursed Crusade was banned last time I tried to give it away (few weeks ago). I'm not sure if it was in a bundle but it was on sale on Amazon at one point for $1.

The thing is though.
I really would like to give these out to members of my private group.
I don't care about not getting any CV for it, but it would be nice to do it through SG so it's a fair roll and people can see it in your (and the winners) history.

I agree, and in many cases these games' free-giveaway period was so long time ago, people giving away these games are actually legit-bought gifts. But that's not what this thread is about, we should make another thread in the suggestion board "allow creating zero CV giveaway for SG-removed games after an X period of time". Maybe 3 months. The free key flood should already subside by then.

What's the old URL to the free/exploited and removed list? Maybe it's cached in Google or Archive.org.

You mean the old faq?
Keys Considered Exploited:
Dead Island
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

No I'm thinking of a page that was like the bundled game list.

Just curious, but how the hell was a call of duty game exploited? Those games rarely have big discounts and never been free as far as I can remember....

Defense Grid 1 (the bundle with the dlc's is still available)

I'm not sure what you mean. You can make a GA for each of then separately or together as the dual pack. It shouldn't matter much anymore, only the dual pack exists now on Steam.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's in the list. It seems from your prior comment that you don't understand what "dual pack" is. "Dual" is "both together". Look on Steam, it's 1 and 2 together. http://store.steampowered.com/sub/14311/ You cant buy them seperately anymore. There is no problem with SGs listing options, what you have is "A Valley Without Wind 1 and 2 Dual Pack"
https://steamdb.info/sub/14311/apps/
Steam Sub 14311, or the old Steam Sub 14313 is irrelevant, They both give the user the exact same 2 games in their library. Pick ""A Valley Without Wind 1 and 2 Dual Pack" in the GA list.

So, here is a list of games that have been disabled. Some might be disabled due to having more than one option on the list. I did not cross-check that. Also, I might have missed a few.
If something is not on the list above but you can't find it on the giveaway list, it's possible that it just hasn't been added to the giveaway list, not that it got disabled on purpose.
Also, some of the games you have listed as removed from the list are simply gone from the store (or are under a different title now). They aren't necessarily disabled manually in the site. Plus, some are in the list.

Screencheat is still available for giveaways. Everything else seems right.

It was probably due to the promo that humble was doing, but I may be wrong.

Is it worth filing support tickets about adding the items that no longer exist in the Steam store (cannot be purchased) or would they be impossible to reinstate on SG due to no price/points value connection?
E.g. State of Decay (already mentioned here) as its Steam page does not provide a 'Buy' option now.
Other examples include outdated and replaced franchise packs like the "Might and Magic" one, where current bundle adds several items on top of the 2014 edition - although, some "historical" packs appear to still be listed here on SG (like the old Hitman Collection)…
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, you should create a ticket if you want some added. Some might be delayed (like State of Decay, since instead of removing the old store page they removed just the price, so the site keeps updating it as having 0 price, unless it's fixed by the administrator) but others just get automatically disabled by the site when their store page disappears and all we need to do is enable them since all the past data is there.

UPDATE: This thread is no longer relevant! This thread will stay for a while, once it sink to the bottom of the forum flood, I will close it for good. Thanks everyone who contributed to this list! And thanks cg for finally decided to allow free games GAs.
Original post below
Games that were once free or exploited are removed from the giveaway list of the game. But since the list is now an auto-suggest instead of a dropdown, it makes me waste time scrolling the list of games to find that the game is not in the list...
A list of un-creatable games would be helpful.
UPDATE: Another better suggestion in the comments, is to show ALL games in the list, but grey-out the un-creatable ones and add a tooltip that explain why it cannot be created.
Thanks Rinarin for providing the official list!
And SleepyCat for the follow-up on the updated list!
