I don't like strategy games because I think they're too complicated.

My Kudos to you, because of your (rarely found) honesty! xD
Everybody says I don't like strategy because of this or that, and nobody makes the confession that they are just too complicated for me. :(

Crusader Kings II. Awesome game.
Thank you.

I really want to play that game. But I don't want to only spent a little time in it. I want to spend entire days on it. Unfortunately that's not practically achievable :(
Is it worth to just play a bit? Cause I really think it's an awesome game.

Kind of like Hearts of Iron 3. I played it a little bit but there's just too much going on that I better play other games if i can't afford to spend enough time on HOI. I still have tons of games I need and love to play anyway.

Crusader Kings II is very complicated but, once you get used to it, it becomes almost second nature.

Definitely Age of Mythology! The story was incredible and there were unexpected twists and turns throughout each mission. The economy and unit types were also well thought out.

Prostagma??

War in the Pacific Admiral Edition, because deciding what pilot to put behind what plane on a forgotten pacific island that you need to supply ( yes, with individual historical ships and their captains ), with the whole of asia and the east coast on the map, is just awesome.

That's what i call a strategy game. Where you really need to think, cumulate supplies for months, before an offensive, over thousands of square kilometers, where your units die from malaria and take days to just load on ships that will take weeks to reach another port, if no submarine catches them in the night. A storm might be a blessing if it grounds ennemy planes.

Otherwise, command air naval operations will be out soon, the proud successor of the harpoon series.

Basically anything by matrix studios, hps simulations or ageod is a good strategy game. Well, almost everything.

Wow, didn't know anyone else ever played this game. I bought it in one of their "sales" but it was just too much for me. Had a lot of fun, but I know when I'm beat...

One advantage though, it did make Paradox games like Hearts of Iron feel like children's toys. :)

Exactly, as much as i like paradox games, and the total war serie, once you have played a game from one of those 3 studios you know that those ones don't even deserve the word of strategy.

If you are interested, war in the west is in Beta.

I WILL learn how to play WITPAE one of these days. Very interested in CANO and WIFME too. Extreme intimidation factor!

World in Flames is in Beta, It is more on the easy to learn hard to master style i think ( Ageod is making American Civil War 2 btw ), as to Command Air Naval Operations, i find it easy as well but i am a harpoon veteran, i think it's just about starting with a small scenario and exploring all the menus and options etc, then it becomes all evident.

War in the Pacific Admiral Edition has the reputation of being the most hardcore, but it has more to do with the scale and the first turns than real difficulty. The first turns are a pain because you need to take care of almost every single unit, ship, move them everywhere, but once this loooong part has been taken care of, everybody is moving, and it takes them days and weeks to reach a point and once they are here they probably won't move so much anymore for a while, ships can be automated for supplies etc so it becomes manageable. And you can save those first turns for the next time you want to play.

Starcraft 1 and now Starcraft 2 is the best strategy Game of all times because is the unike that have 3 totally different races (build, attack, tactics...) and blizzard always keep the 3 races balanced (is hard work). This is the main reason of gameplay, but for me is the best game too for: History, how to save replays of the games, control of the units, Stats of players, Graphics.... etc.

I think this game cant compare with any other.... all the other strategy games lose...

Sarcraft 2 - HOTS (Expansion) - Opening Cinematic
YoDa vs First - SC2 (Grand Finals) - IEM World Championship 2013

For a fun game - Red Alert 2 YR. Less fun more thinking - Any Total War game. Honorable mention - StarCraft 1, but only because I still haven't gotten around StarCraft 2. Would love to get into the pvp aspect of that.

Try the Disgaea games! They're like FFT on crack!
I enjoyed FFT Advance more than TWOTL actually. But both are great!

I wish I could find an equivalent to Disgaea on PC, with the same level of depth. I had to leave my Playstation behind when I moved, I have no tv here.

I heard the first game is on android (and IOS?) too! Not sure if it's as good as the PS versions though.
i suggest getting a PSP (yeah, i said psp, or vita works too). PSP's are cheap now and disgaea games last a lifetime! (well,... the psp's lifetime). the games themselves are pretty cheap now on psn too. No need for a tv!

Rome: Total War is my favourite strategy game. It's just so engaging. I won't forget what those damn Macedonians did to me. Really exciting battles. The path you carve through Europe creates a unique story.

I've recently been playing FTL, also great strategy game!

My favourite games would be those in the disgaea series but I classify them more as tactics than as strategy.
