I'm looking at the Amazon deal ($9.99) and you get all of the addon packs and level cap increase, but I don't think it comes with the extra characters.

Will those ever be included?

I do not see the word new, I do see the word extra which would apply to the Mechromancer.

Since they pluralized the word character, they are probably talking about BOTH the mechromancer and whatever the new character they're going to add is. But either way, neither of them are part of the season pass.

No, it doesn't. Borderlands 2 Season Pass contains only 4 major DLCs

  • DLC1 - Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty
  • DLC2 - Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage
  • DLC3 - Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt

The 4th DLC hasn't been released yet

Just check my Borderlands 2 DLC tab on Steam, you're right. The Ultimate Vault Hunter Pack is free for anyone who purchased the Borderlands 2 season pass. Thanks for the heads up

You heard incorrectly. From the very beginning, they made it crystal clear that any additional characters would NOT be a part of the Season Pass.

If it doesn't contain it now, it never will.

I don't care, after introducing DLC just for level cap they got on my blacklist. 2K games are going way overboard with DLCs and season passes. They're no better than EA and Activision.

But the DLC IS included on the Season Pass, so it's not THAT bad.

Apparently releasing a complete game is unheard-of nowadays.

I wouldn't have minded paying ~$40 for the season pass IF it included ALL the dlc. It's sad that you have to pay $5 to level up your character past 50. Also the 2 extra characters should have been included in the season pass from the get go.

That's my point. You get the incomplete game and then you have to pay for more missions, pay for more characters, pay for more levels, pay for more skins. And people tolerate that and think that's just fine and dandy. In the end, the game ends up €80-100 instead of €50 (as if that's not expensive enough).

If the dlc's are as good as they were in the original Borderlands then its worth it! There were content almost comparable to lenght that was the whole game

Except that EA seems to include content that should have been included but was cut just to make it a DLC.
In BL2 context, i'll simply copy paste what was said here:

"The thing most people don't seem to understand is: The level cap raise was not initially intended. The game was balanced around level 50 and that was it. But since fans moaned so much about it they decided to put extra work and time into balancing a new level cap with a new "New game +" and new weapons. The game was perfectly fine before and the Story DLC was announced early enough to see it coming.

But this? With all the bitching after every single Storydlc about how Borderlands 1 was so much better because higher level I want to see everyone who wanted it to actually prove how much they wanted it and pay out of their ass.

TLDR: they didn't want level 61 but because bitching we got it. so pay them if you ever whined about the levelcap!"

To me it sounds totally acceptable, especially at that price. I was never disappointed in the quality / price of BL DLCs.

And of course they had to charge for it. "Balancing the game around level 61" my ass, that's just an excuse to milk more money from customers. Well, they just lost one. I'm sick and tired of meaningless DLCs and I will boycott each and every developer that abuses them, even if I end up buying only indie games.

I'll quote something that Ghandi supposedly said. "Be the change you wish to see in the world." Well, I wish developers started releasing complete games and fucked off with all the DLC nonsense.

Well, they could have used a difficulty scheme like Relic does for CoH, but then you would have incinerated BL2 before duming it into deep sea.

Balancing a non intended upgrade to a game does recquire work, so I'm not shocked they make us pay.
Considering what is said in the post right below though, I don't know what to think.

Achievement name on release for reaching the max level in BL2: "Capped Out... For Now."

Did not know that, interesting.

Considering level 50 was maximum in first Borderlands and it got increased, it was only a matter of time before the same thing happened in Borderlands 2. It was inevitable. That takes us back to releasing of unfinished games just to make more money.

At least isn't cut for the game, is developed after the game launch. And every single dlc of both BL-BL2 ( except moxxi underdome, utter crap ) are way better than most full retail games out there

Maybe it was developed after launch, but it was planned all along.

And half of BL1 DLCs were not good at all, let alone better than most full retail games.

I'm siding with this guy. DLC for level cap is just retarded. DLC should be only to add more storyline, more quests, a new zone to discover, something to push the game further or whatever. Not this crap about "omg golden gun with 3 more bullets - 3 euros" or "omg character skin with blue hair instead of green - 5 euros"

They should include the level cap for free with the last DLC!
