Do you like it? Discuss!

I personally think it will take a while to get used to but it certainly feels more modern and it doesn't look too bad... Fortunately the next sale is in one month (right?) so we have plenty of time to get the hang of it! :D

I don't mind the color but i hate all the damn "Recommended for you" crap. Especially since it keeps recommending crap games simply because they're in a genre i own multiple games from, hell simply because i played that type of game this week lol. Wish they add a way to turn all that junk off, i can make up my own damn mind.

You can personalize this part, just turn "recommended for you" off. The only thing left is the box at the bottom, to which I just won't scroll down to. So it's not that bad.

Where can you switch 'recommended for you' off?

I meant the main box, where the offers are "moving" - you can personalize it in the upper right corner of the box so that it doesn't show the recommended games.

I like it. Too much blue, but features are good. Now I can see what games I have and what games are in my wishlist in home menu or search menu. Also I can choose what games show in home menu.

If it's 'personalized just for you' (the marketing wanker that came up with that needs to be shot), why can't I choose what to display on the front page and in which order? I think the 'queue' is really useless (well, it's great for big companies to have an exclusive area I guess) and the curator system is interesting, but please make it optional. For now it just means scrolling over more pointless 'BUY THIS BECAUSE WE KNOW BETTER THAN YOU WHAT YOU WANT!' bs to get to the daily special.

ROFL Should ask my bf what I think about it. Internet wasn't working for me all day and when it finally does, we were in Skype chat and I was catching up on some stuff online. I popped onto Steam website. He was in the middle of a game and actually paused to ask what was wrong, because the amount of choice words that came out of my mouth. ROFL I like blue...but not that much, esp in those shades....feels very ugly and neon and too in your face. Something about the way they used the colors feels off. I liked the old color scheme just fine; fit my personal tastes more. The layout....now I have to go stare at all that blue and find shit again. And the "recommends for you" BS everywhere..... Steam curators.... <_< dafuq... I do not give a shit what steam or curators recommend. Fuck them. Blue....WHY?!?! Why the neonish blue on the blue on the blue, ugh.

At least the profile page and activity feed and stuff are still the same, sort of...for now ^^;

EDIT:
.....fuck you steam....just...NO... Do not recommend this shit to me. IF I wanted it, I would have it ages ago...Just...no...

Action games Due to your recent playtime in other Action games: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Team Fortress 2...

It causes disorientation... old one was better, kinda neutral and this one is more intrusive IMO.

Like the others have pointed out, the blue is terrible. It is, for lack of a better term, puke blue.

The real problem I have with the new layout is it's supposed to be sleeker, better and improved in everyway. But it's not. All they really did was push the proper consumer tools to the bottom while putting more emphasis on trying to keep up with the most current gaming fad. It's still very antiquated in its design. If this were a new and improved Steam, there would be a proper homepage that is fully customizable. I don't mean subwindows that allow me to filter certain results. I mean, if I don't want to see subwindows involving "most popular games" or early access titles, then that subwindow is gone. I should be able to see only what I want to see, get rid of the stuff I don't and move the stuff around to organize it the way I want. I should be able to drag game icons to my homepage that will launch the game when I click on it. Heck, the freaking Wii and Xbox Live have a more customizable UI than Steam does.

As it is now, it's not better or faster. It's just a rearranged store page with an ugly color palette.

most people will dislike it for a week or 2 but as with every youtube update, people get used to it, as for me, does it allow me to buy, browse and play games? yes, so i dont care

Did they remove the forum link from the store pages of the games or am I just blind? Because unless you enter the community hub and navigate to the forum from there I can't see any other way to reach the forums of the individual games.

I like the new look but don't understand why parts of the site are not loading properly on my pc, neither from Chrome and from Steam app. I just get the boxes empty.

I'm sure they will do that in the future though...
Agree. I kind of knew there was an update coming out because they changed the 'helpful or not' buttons for the reviews, and also the shape around avatars was changed to be more square-ish.
So they'll probably update the Community part soon...
