Hmm they told me that if you purchase it for $15.00 you will get a special prize but you need to purchase it at that prize before the extra 10 games are added to the bundle.

Voxeltron sold more than the entire Launch bundle did in a few hours...

I personally like Indie Royale better at this current point in time... HIB1-3 were great, but the other three bundles/offers they've done have been mediocre in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong. I am NOT complaining, at all! I'm just really hoping Royale does good, and I'm excited to see what they bring to the table.

Well, it's not that people are forced to buy the other bundles. They have the Humble Indie Bundles with a bunch of cool games, and then there are other small bundles which can be considered as bonus games they release now and then. I think the more the merrier. If the games are mediocre, you can pay less. That's the great thing about Pay What You Want.

What I like about Indie Royale is that they have a minimum price. I wish the HIB would have a minimum price of $1 instead of $0.01. It's hard to believe in the mankind if people pay one penny for a bundle which is worth a lot more. Everybody has a dollar, even kids, students, and people who don't have a job.

Nevertheless, HIB's concept is working. Indie Royale's Launch Bundle was sold 37,558 times in 5 days. The Humble Voxatron Debut has beaten it in about 7 hours. And Voxatron is just a single unfinished game, compared to the four awesome games from the Launch Bundle. Indie Royale made averagely about $3 per bundle: 37,558 * $3 = $112,674.
Voxatron has made $217,000 about 20 hours after its launch. About 30% of it goes to the charity. So the devs and the HIB guys made about $151,000 already and they still have more than 13 days to go.

I personally like both Indie Royale and the Humble Bundles, because they offer great games which I would never even consider to buy for the full price. For example, A.R.E.S. was a pleasant surprise and I ignored it when it was released on Steam.

But thats why they succeeded, everyone was like "OMG theres this site where you can buy games for 1 cent". Thats marketing. Only the total sum and average payment is relevant. And that sum is high, so it seems it works.

Voxatron is pretty fun.
I played around with the editor for a couple of hours.
It's pretty impressive considering this is a very early version.
With monster-editor, music-editor and possibly more stuff being in the works this could become pretty interesting.

I got this bundle for 3 reasons:
1) It feels good to give to charity every now and then.
2) I love indie games.
3) The screenshot posted by FareGodmace at the top of the thread.
At the time that I actually bought it (about 2 hours ago), all that was listed on the main site was Voxatron. I placed the order, went to class, and didn't actually check my email for the download link until a couple minutes ago. I was so happy when the download link included an activation key for The Binding of Isaac.

If you don't feel like actually reading the thread, then learn to read the rules.

  • Do not publicly submit Humble Bundles or games from them while they are being sold.
  • When you submit a Humble Bundle, it is only acceptable to have an unactivated gift URL to provide to the winner. Members giving away Steam keys and the like will be warned, have their giveaways removed, and if they continue, may result in a suspension.
  • These rules also apply to additional keys within the Humble Bundle. Please do not giveaway separate keys, such as SpaceChem, or create a giveaway for the leftover Desura keys. Unused URLs for the original Humble only, please.

Very sneaky what they did :D Pay above the avg price to get the two steam games. Good (I support it) but they really shouldnt call it pay what you want and bundle only one game for that price - at least we are told what to pay in the royale bundles.

They always do something like this (although it's typically "pay above the average and get one of the previous bundles for free"). You can still pay whatever you want for the bundle, but this is a way to reward those who are more generous than most.

If you bought it before the extra games were officially announced, you get those games no matter what you paid.

Which you should have done, because everyone knew those games would be added.

Well, technically it's not a "bundle" but a "debut" of Voxatron. You can buy Voxatron for whatever price you wish, so it's still "pay what you want". The other two games are a bonus you get for being generous. So everything is still correct.

But yes, they are sneaky. :)

Now I have to increase my pay. Also no steam code?

Voxatron has no Steam code because it's not a Steam game (it's possible it will be in the future, just not right now). However, if you get The Binding of Isaac and Blocks That Matter in the bundle, those 2 come with a single key that will activate them both on Steam.

Just saw it. Must be blind.

Knew that Voxatron wouldn't have a key. Was asking for the other two.

lol, people are reporting that If you paid 1 cent before the games were added, you get Isaac and Blocks anyway

Well, that's always been like that actually.

But this time they added the other games pretty quickly to avoid to lose too much money I guess, which is a very good thing. :)

Well, it's along the same lines as buying the bundle for $2 when $1 is the average cost, and then the average goes up to $3. They aren't going to exclude you from future additions to the bundle because you didn't plan to pay above the future average.

Not really. They could determine whether you paid more than what the average was when you paid. They don't, though.

It's an incentive to buy early, because you're getting all future bonuses, regardless of how much of a cheapskate you are.
