Looks not bad, but the truly awesome game from this genre is Tetris Attack from Super Nintendo, did you play it?

I never played Tetris Attack but I had Pac-Attack which was also good.

i haven't played the SNES Tetris, but the NES one was fun and it was one of the only video games my mom would play back then.

This is actually a pretty good game-- I have 10.5 hours logged on it. It's got surprising depth and multiple game modes for such a simple-seeming (and dirt cheap) game. It also has a "campaign" if you want progression.
