I'm somewhere in between. Sometimes, the cops do a good job and are helpful. Some other times, well, some other times they can screw things up really bad O.o
I'm a very committed anarchist but have former police, and former/current military members in my family. I think in their positions working, they inevitably contribute, at least to some extent, to a corrupt and evil government. You could be a great person otherwise, but if your job includes locking people up for getting high, or searching people and checking identification, or almost anything supporting the legal system.
Canadian if that's context, I have a good life but my government is pretty scummy.
