I want to invite soeone but im unsure how the 50$ is calculated...

for instance orange box retail shows up as "free" but on steamcalculator it's not yet I spent 15$ on it...

Get them to go to the page and try and register, and it should tell them wwhether they have the $50 they need.

The key stays on your page and doesn't expire, if they can't use it. Also it's 50 points....They come back pretty fast.

You don't need to generate a code for them to check the value of their accounts. Just tell them to come here and try to register. First their account is verified and if they are successful they will be asked for an invitation code.

I created my account a few weeks before I got my code. You just can't do anything until you get the code.

With the Humble Hundles are other almost free deals; the 50 dollar limit is pretty trival to meet.
