For me, hope is about believing that you'll always find things that make you smile. Doesn't matter if it's big or small, it's something that made the day worth it for me. I have too many rough days nowadays, but believing in the positives helps me get through them.
For example today I played a nice game, made some progress on my big crochet project, took a cute picture of my car, went out in nature and enjoyed the sunset. And I know tomorrow isn't going to be easy, but I hope and believe it too will have moments that make me smile.

Funny you should say that. I uploaded a progress pic on Jigidi a while back:
Here's a more recent pic, though by now I've finished yellow and I'm halfway done with orange. Then it's just pink and red left and I'll have myself a lovely weighted blanket.
I was planning on setting up some more giveaways in my puzzle thread (Jigidi, nonogram, thermo, etc), but haven't had the energy for that yet. Maybe tomorrow? A donated game is much appreciated, but I also have some keys lying around for it.

Hm... maybe I'll piggy back to bump you if your keys are also gathering dust :)
Drnnit though, I made the leaderboard, 3m12, without realizing it had been so long since I jigidi'd that I wasn't logged in ๐
It's a beautiful piece... I love the stitch pattern and color choice-- I hope Noor can forgive it for all its transgressions!

I'll let you know when I've added the new puzzle giveaways :)
Aw man, that's a good time too. But I bet you could do it even faster if you log in and try it again. There's also another crochet Jigidi and many many Noor ones, in case you're in a jigsaw mood.
I'm really enjoying this crochet project. First time working with beads and once I get into the flow, it's delightfully meditative. And Noor puts up with a lot, as long as crochet doesn't take up too much of her lap time ๐

I have to join this gloomy corner of the room here. I am more of the same, and sometimes defeatist too, but I am trying not to be (emphasis on the "trying ").
Life taught me that the best bet is to always be prepared for the worst. This way, when nothing happens, nothing happens, but when shit goes down, you will have a clear head and can chill out because you are already prepared.

OMG I finally figured out these parquet puzzles. I took "shaded" to mean green. Duh moment for sure. TY for a relatively easy one. I hope you have a good weekend.

Canโt participate in the giveaway, but I hope to participate in this discussion!!
Hope for me is honestly just having a next thing. Not something huge or life changing, just something on the horizon that I'm genuinely looking forward to, a game I haven't played yet, a summer break with a loose plan, a moment I can already picture even if it hasn't happened yet. I think about my friend sending that clip of the Malenia kill in Elden Ring, and going quiet afterwards and I think that's kind of what hope feels like to me in practice, not the big thing itself but the fact that you're still moving toward it, still in it, still showing up for whatever the next attempt is. As long as there's a next attempt there's something to keep going for and I think that's enough honestly, I don't need it to be more complicated than that.

I may just digressed. Currently the Festival de Cannes is being hold in France, and among the 22 Competition Feature films, one of them is titled...... yes "HOPE".
Anyway according to the early reviews from the viewers and critics who has seen it, it's kind of highly acclaimed. Unlike the pretentious and hard-to-follow "art house films" typically seen at Cannes, this one is fully packed with non-stop intense action scenes and hilarious comedic moments. Some say it may found inspirations from the phenomenal film "NOPE" (hope? nope!) - they both featured aliens, unconventional heroic characters and anti-climax plot elements.
Those reviews successfully got my attention thus I just added โHope" to my must-see list of 2026.

Ever since I watched The Great Gatsby, I haven't been able to visualize hope as anything other than a shimmering green light in the darkness, thanks to the brilliant performance by DiCaprio. It's always there. It makes our lives brighter. It shows us the way. But it might not lead us to where we wanted to go as it's easy to mix it up with will-o'-the-wisp.

Nope, just a coincidence. But, as wise turtle once said, there're no coincidences accidents.

Hope for me is in the knowledge that whenever I've seen hard times, I've seen better times afterwards.
Also my niece and nephews. Just watching them grow and being endlessly surprised by their imagination and their sense of wonder about new things makes me feel less jaded somehow.
Here's hoping your next weeks are better than your last Grogglz

In my experience, it's something little children have - and lose with age.

Thank you all for the hope, comedic respite, and cake day wishes.
Trying to take some steps to expand my life this year... it's funny how the steps forward are terrifying just because of how much we want to take them yet aren't sure where they lead. Special thanks to The Giveaways Club as the unintentional donor of BPH, I hope my regifting method is kosher!
Also, appreciation to cloverleaf for inspiring me to do simple, pixel-rich jigis... I love pixel rich games and inky handdrawn ones... yeah, does Shadow of the Tomb Raider have excellent graphics? Sure. Do those graphics hit my dopamine receptors with unmitigated rainbows? Nope. I need beautiful animation or creative and lush pixeling.
The puzzles are a bit weird-- forgot I can't jigi-lock a Whitelist/Groups GA, so you'll have to figure out how I rhymed the two. I believe in you. You can do it. You can also attack me online for not doing things right-- if you don't, someone else surely will :) Start here Level 3-- if you're not in the groups I selected for this, you're not missing any information you need to access the third GA, which is invite only.

Not sure how I missed this thread. ๐ค
Happy belated cakeday, Grogglz! As for hope ... for me, I take it from the smallest things, like a nice gesture from a stranger, meeting loved ones or just spending time in nature. And realising how hopeless my future looked many times before when I was younger, and that I am still here and there are so many things for me to be grateful. I have learned to focus on the positive things and enjoy them while I can. That way, I don't have any regrets once they are gone.
I hope things are looking up for you. Feel free to reach out anytime you want to talk or vent. ๐

Hey hey-- have had a few rough ones lately, so I wanted to have some fun and discussion. Fun answers, dumb answers, enlightened answers all welcome: What is 'hope' for you?
Thank you for being great folks. Lvl 2 WL + rando groups I'm in that I thought wouldn't mind-- GA for My Big Sis Remastered is live.... it ends at some point.
For folks not in that WL/groups, lvl 2 engagement opportunity for a game related to this image, gated by a Parquet. .... also ends at some point.
Please give abdNiszan some love for their project.
