Yesterday I gifted my 12yr old nephew the Humble Bundle 9 Indie pack for this birthday … If he were a couple years older, THIS would have been a fantastic gift!

They're all mature-rated games, so he's out of luck. Those are the house rules.

well just cause 2 would be ok for him really. the only thing mature about it is that it has guns and shooting. everything else is pretty standard. i think its good that the ratings are taken into consideration tho its excellent really, but i also believe in using ones own judgement too and making decisions. which may be the case if violence at all is a no no for him.

Personally, I didn't think Just Cause 2 was all that bad. But like I previously mentioned: "Those are the house rules."

(He still thinks I'm cool for buying him games … ;D … His parents get labeled as the bad guys!)

That Ninja game is too violent for a 12 yr old boy.

Yeah, Deus Ex Human Revolution has much less blood.

But I got to get my 11-year-old brother to play DXHR... raged at the (acording to him) "broken stealth thing." Didn't even get to the part where Namir appears lol

His Dad makes the final call after personally testing the games. He said HB9 was OK.

SPECIAL NOTE: The nephew is NOT allowed his own steam account. He's already lost some computer privileges after breaking rules.

I honestly salute you Sir! Buying games as gift is nice, and taking ESRB raitings in consideration when choosing games is the right thing to do. Games won't make kids violent, but the age restrictions are there for a reason!

Truth! It's always nice when adults keep ratings in mind when getting gifts for the kiddos. Lord knows I've seen far too many times when parents didn't care, and the child was obviously miserable. I had one kid that I'd babysit who's mom just got him whatever. His Turok game frightened him, so I brought over my N64 and Pokemon for us to play together.

That was years ago, and I'm still pissed off at her for doing that.
Gave a violent M rated game to an eight year-old. SMFH

I've been trying to get Sleeping Dogs for a while now but the game has so many DLCs and there's never a deal where both are on discount and even when I find 75% discounted on Steam it still comes up like 30 euros all together which is a bit too much for me. :/

The DLCs aren't worth it.

Yea, the base game is better.

Year of the Snake, Zodiac Tournament, Nightmare in North Point and Wheels of Fury are the only DLC worth buying, as they add new missions and playable content. The rest is just outfits and methods to boost in-game stats.

They're a total of $23 at regular price.

Personally, I'd say that all of those extra scenarios are pretty good - Zodiac Tournament being perhaps the weakest of the bunch. Wheels of Fury has an awesome car you get and Year of the Snake has you play just a regular beat cop, while Nightmare in North Point turns everything on its head by introducing Chinese zombies (which are hilarious).

Still waiting for the SE Hits deal with Tomb Raider. Just Cause 2 has been on sale for high discounts many times. Human Revolution seems like that it's going in that direction as well recently.

Meh, if the deals were also separate I'd get Hitman & Sleeping Dogs, but having gotten all the others in a much bigger bundle for 10 dollars makes it seem really "meh."

Only the game marked with [Online Game Codes] has steam key? Or I'm wrong?

Read the description. If it says "Requires Steam Client to activate" then it has Steam keys.
