Dis yummy?
Not sure what the issue was, but why are people complaining about the Definitive version?
I own the original, so I have no idea. Loved the game though. Ending was pretty bad and fast-paced compared to the rest of the game though

The original game had a PC-exclusive HD texture pack, http://store.steampowered.com/app/202181/Sleeping_Dogs__High_Resolution_Texture_Pack/
The Definitive Edition is a graphical upgrade on the original game without this addon.
tl;dr: Consoles.

Oh. I'm glad I got the original version then.
After playing on PC for so long, I hate the feel of a controller now. Mainly the sensitivity, but the input lag and awkward gripping are an issue as well. The only reason I want a next-gen is for Rare Replay or Uncharted 4.

I used the Xbox 360 controller so long that a PS3 or PS4 controller is impossibru to game on for me...
Well, in Sleeping Dogs I guess I'd at least drive with a controller. With Saints Row or GTA or that I often use a controller to drive and switch to the mouse when shooting is required.

Thank you sappyMA :) I made a giveaway because of your helpful answer, although you own it already.. But you'll be on my whitelist from now, so there are more chances to come. ^^
So sadly it's not available for Germany, and it's sgtools protected, but without rules :)
@Luckz
Feel free to add it to the OP!

This is fucking stupid. Square-Enix are one of the best publishers when it comes to pricing, sales and bundles. But on Sleeping Dogs they did a Deep Silver: fuck you over with a money-hungry cunt non-sensical "definitive edition" and hidden DLCs, upgrades that should have gone smoothly like Rise of Tombr Raider Anniversary, Skyrim Legendary, Bioshock Remasters, Metal Gear Solid V ultimate etc...

they remove the dlc pack from square enix store, hehehe, they need to sell the new version...

+1
I don't see anything anywhere mentioning Steam.

I prefer the Definitive Edition over the original game. Why? More realistic (but not always better) graphics, shadows, and effects; better lighting; more animations; better physics; better vehicle handling; dozens of other improvements. Great game!

Mmm, this timing... How many chances are there that the Def edition will be included in the next HB monthly?

$6 on steam atm, just get it on steam instead since it card money instead of your real money :3

Didn't think they'd still be selling the normal edition, good to know

As the original Sleeping Dogs has been purchase-disabled with the release of the DLC-containing, but graphically and otherwise often worse Definitive Edition, this is a dandy opportunity to pick up one of the more worthwhile GTA titles the PC has seen.
Definitive is a dollar cheaper than the current, lowest-ever Steam sale price of $5.99.

Be warned that Definitive Edition is both activation locked and run locked for Germany, for no reason at all. Giving it away as a ROW title is thus -presumably- not permitted.
P.S.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqc-nwhbexY
https://store.na.square-enix.com/spring-clearance-sale-digital has a few other, mostly bland discounts.
The Sleeping Dogs DLCs are all 50% off, so not really worth picking up on the grand scale of things. On Steam they have often been 75% off (last in March 2016), plus there was a famous price bug very long ago.
https://store.na.square-enix.com/product/284036/deus-ex-mankind-divided-digital-standard-edition-pc-download is the same $18 it has twice been on Steam already, so not noteworthy either.
