I've used GMG several times. I've never gotten a call from them. Never had a problem that required the use of a phone.

I say it's better to err on the side of caution--if you're really worried about it, don't do it--but my experience has been smooth so far, if that helps.

It's safe. I bought a few games from them and had no problem.

They don't call you ever. I wouldn't use a fake number, since something might come up where you need to prove who you are(though I can't picture it happening.) i've bought from there many times over the course of....well, over a year, and they've never had to contact me.

It bothers me that they make me enter the info as well. I put all fake info for all the boxes and tried to pay with paypal like I do on every other website, but it kept giving me an error saying it could not place the order when it tried to charge paypal. Eventually I corrected the info so it matched my paypal info except for the phone number which I made up and the payment went through. I have bought games through 8 to 10 different websites and GMG is the only one that required me to enter info about myself other than just logging into my paypal account.

Now that you reminded me, i'm gonna log into GMG right now and change all my info back to NA.

Any buy website needs your phone. They will never call you, bit they need it.
