Can you help redeem a uplay game on your rig? (If there is another way to redeem that I would like to know)
I have a code for a game on uplay but it needs to be redeemed on Geforce Experience with a GTX 1070 or 1080 installed (I don't have these cards).
I just need remote access for a minute to input my google and uplay accounts, redeem the and logoff.

I'm just begging here, no need to be rude. :)

Thank you for your time.

You should ask friends for this. No sane person should give remote access to a random stranger.

I don't know any rich person. The closest that I've found is a friend that has a GTX 980.
And the person would be watching me and could interrupt at any moment if they suspect something.

With a prepared script you could do any kind of damage. I am pretty sure you will find nobody willing to do so. Would you give your Ubisoft (or Steam for that matter) login data to a stranger? Giving remote access to your PC is knid of worse.

someone's gonna give you remote access to their pc?

i think it's easier if you trust that person and give them your uplay account + key...

Too risky.

Not really. You're essentially doing exactly that when you enter the information on their machine. You have no idea what's running in the background.

True, since the "good samaritan" could have a keylogger on their side.

if you are unwilling to do that - and what you are asking them to do is exactly the same risk - then why would they?

I'm not asking for any of their information, just access to GFE.

and they would just be asking you for your uplay :) - which you were unwilling to do - so you can see why they would be unwilling to take that chance either :)

It's not the same.
What can I do by seeing a geforce experience? All the information there would be mine, not of the person helping me, I just need the portal to redeem my code.

have you ever had remote access to someones pc - cause I can assure you I can install things on your pc just with you giving me remote access with no elevated permissions and you would not see it ihappening - it takes around 15-30 seconds :) - that is what you were asking for - remote access - not just geforce experience - the GFE is just what you have put in the reply to me :P

You have remote access to their ENTIRE COMPUTER not just GFE

Between the two options, there's less risk involved with sharing GFE and UPlay logins....

I would just need GFE.

If all you need is GFE, what's the risk in sharing that login? There's no purchases associated with the account, and no credit card saved to it....

I can recover my GFE and uplay accounts using my email, but the code for the game would be one.

Doesnt those site has 2 step verification? Because you are asking for people to give you access to their computers, that's more risky than let them your account with 2 step verification

The problem is not the account, is the serial.

I highly doubt anyone will give you remote access to their system!
I mean....how can we know your intentions are good?
I wouldn't give a total stranger access to my system: NO WAY!

But I don't have a high end NVidea card either, so don't even have to think about it.

But this must be the most insane question I have ever read here!

I don't think anyone will help me either, but I asked here because I don't have anyting to loose and there is a reputation system in place, so people will know I'm not a thief or anything.

I mean I've got a 1070, but yeah not going to trust a complete stranger with remote access, I mean I could log on and do it for you but you see the problem. You don't know me and I don't know you. Trust is a thing.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's precise the problem.
I share accounts with some friends and we trust each other, but you don't have any reason to trust me.
I'm hoping to find someone who understands that remote access is not equal full access since the person on the other side can see what you're doing, but is a long shot.

It's incredibly arrogant to say you won't trust a stranger with your GFE and Uplay accounts, but they should trust you with access to their entire computer...

Whoever you bought the code from has a 1070 or 1080... why not ask the seller for help?

I didn't bought it, so no seller to activate.

So, you have a code which suppose to be with the card, but you don't know the person who bought this card. That is suspicious...

That's because I'm a super hacker and got the code from Nvidia servers.
My only weakness is not being able to hack computers with GFE installed.

regardless of the risk involved either direction, i don't see anyone still willing to do it even if it was done with a risk-free environment (live os) because that would then not allow those users to take advantage of any other nvidia promos. it would tie their nvidia gpu serial number to having used a "promo" already and deny further promos.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

i think that nvidia is already locked the code to the graphics card that was bought.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

well they use the serial of the gpu to insure it hasn't already been used in a promo, if it has then they deny activation. if the gpu serial has never been involved in promotion before and is still an accepted model for said promo, then it will redeem/activate the game for you.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Its not tied to a specific GPU serial, any GTX 1070 or 1080 that was not used in this specific promotion would work.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

how do you think they can tell if it was used in a specific promotion or not?? by the gpu serial.. :P

so not only do you have to find someone willing to risk their entire computer to you, you also have to find someone willing to give up their right to any future nvidia promo being able to work with their current gpu.

In theory you would not be able to use an old card to enter future promotions, unless you're looking to buy one of those codes in the future.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

you're asking for people with 1070/1080 card and calling that old? its brand new with several promos yet to come out. they will lose their right to be able to do any future promo.. nothing i've said is wrong. you should be more forth coming in what the use of their computer will lose out on.

By "old" I mean bought before Frebruary 2017. You will not be able to use those cards to enter any promotion in the future.

well i bought a 1060 6gb gpu laptop yesterday and it should arrive monday. i intent on taking advantage of one of the few current running promos personally (that extend to the laptop 10xx series). but again, you should be more forth coming and tell them "all i need is access to your computer, and you would no longer be able to do any of your own nvidia promotions".

You would not be able to do it twice, but the first time should work.

"Nvidia has confirmed that while GFE checks to ensure a user has installed a qualifying graphics card like a GTX 1070 or GTX 1080, the game itself is not permanently linked to the hardware. GFE's hardware check is based only on the wider product range, and not on a specific serial number."

the game is not linked to the hardware

that is correct. you can still play said game after it is redeemed on any other computer.. however the fact that A promotion has been used is linked to the serial.

You're right. But I don't have anything to offer, if I give the key to someone they could just activate for their accounts and none of the people I've traded before have the cards.

you should pay a small fee to find someone to activate it with your login uplay account but instead you are looking to find someone to do it for free and with remote access to his pc?not gonna happen in a million year.

What reputation you spoke of earlier anyway? You got a handful of gifts sent and 10 positive feedbacks on steamtrades.
Even if you were level 10 here and had 200 positive feedbacks on steamtrades, noone will do this for you.

But offcourse you are free to ask.

If you truely hacked or found some exploit in getting your code you are even making yourself more untrustworthy but it's also.. well i would use some words but not worth getting suspended on you, but if it is, just get out.
If you were joking about it, won't get you points either.

Either way it's just smarter to just close this thread.
