Should comment history be a native feature
https://www.steamgifts.com/discussions/created
I tried to adress this before that everything can be googled, and CG could decide to shield it, but it's not a concern seemingly.

I mean, my created discussions make up for a pretty small percentage of my comments. It's a start for sure but not enough.
Damn though, the very fact that everything can be googled is the exact reason why I have concerns lol
Thanks for the help:

You could theoretically use google, but you'd need to filter through the results manually - example google search

I tried to briefly look through the results, doesn't look like google actually indexes all the pages here :(
From the first look, duckduckgo offers more results, so you might want to have a look there too - https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%22Ctouw%22+site%3Asteamgifts.com&t=h_&ia=web

🙄…
I believe if you delete your account, all comments are erased?
This may be the easiest way if you are prepared to re-stack the levels.

But all the exchanges on the "Internet" and all of humanity's computers are probably being accumulated by someone else.
It may be important for me to use the "I was led to believe that in that era of the world" dialect.
For example, you could say, "In that era, there was a gray area and there were no laws to control it”.
Living with a concern for the past is like dying by half. What good things shall we do in the future to live? It is easier to keep doing things with that in mind than to "erase" them.

You seem to be missing the point, It's not at all about erasing my past. I'm keeping my past in both my own head and my private material such as family pictures and whatnot. That's not a problem.
It's about making sure this past is not publicly available on the internet. I want to make sure I did not talk about stuff I'd rather not anyone can find. That's all. I don't want randomers to know about details on my life, and because I was not always that careful about what I post I want to be able to see what I posted.
Yes I can delete my account, but it's a shame I have to go to such lengths for something that seems like a no brainer.

Probably too late or difficult.
It may be too late to throw Google, Facebook and Windows tik...wech...etc...in the trash.

If you have taken steps to distance yourself from them over the past 20 years and live without a cell phone these days, there may be no strings attached, but the reality is that such people are hard to find these days.
Still, there are those who use "librewolf" to somewhat reduce the impact.
Spy bot
These can reduce some of the information sucking out of Windows.
If you do not want your browsing information to be linked to everything you do and post, you can use TOR and other methods.
It takes a great deal of effort to prevent the past from being traced, so it may be safe to think of it only as a way to "reduce leakage.

I know it's difficult. That's my point. It shouldn't be.
As for my social media accounts, I've never been a social media person so I'm mostly fine. Last time I had a personal social media account was Facebook for like two months in 2011, deleted back then.
Nowadays I always use a different nickname on every website and am careful to separate all my activities from one another (my artist accounts are separate from personal, personal is under a nickname, profesional is separate from anything etc). I also have one email adress for each different activity, all of them at Protonmail. I don't use Google accounts for logging into stuff either (apart from Youtube) and always reject cookies and disable telemetry and tracking in all my software. I use non intrusive software and apps whenever possible and use nicknames and different emails for the rest.
I've deleted loads of accounts from websites and services I don't use anymore and keep doing it whenever I find out about a website I have subscribed to in the past that I have forgotten about.
Then I do what I want to do here - delete older posts. They serve no purpose anymore, take up storage space and use energy for nothing, better they're gone especially since it's just data of mine in the wild.
I've even used OSINT tools on myself to check the traces I've left haha
Anyway yeah I think I'm alright on most fronts. There are still places I can improve on but I'm working on it little by little.
Thanks for the suggestions though! I had not heard of Librewolf and it seems like a cool alternative to Firefox.
Hope you have a nice day :)

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

On Messages (envelope icon in the top right) I can see most of my giveaway comments and discussions.
The ones that I couldn't see are replies to other comments on giveaways. For that ones I had to access the messages that looked like I could have replied to them.

Yeah I've always wanted something like a comment history to be available. But not because I want to delete or modify my replies, in fact I don't really care if someone wants to go read through them, I want access because I'm pretty sure I've forgotten quite a few of them and would like to re-read them to remember those days. I want that nostalgia.

Good day to you my SG friends,
As someone somewhat concerned about online privacy, I like to regularly come back and delete information I have left online about myself over the years.
My profile states I have over than 1k comments in here, some of which I left years ago before I was relly concerned about all this stuff. While most are probably harmless thank yous and I'm too stupid for this puzzle have a bumps, I've had actual discussions here as well and don't rememer the full extent of what I may have casually mentioned. Again most of it is probably harmless but I like to be able to decide for myself what I want to keep public online and what I'd prefer to stay private, even if at the time of posting I thought it was fine - people and opinions change.
All of this to say, is there a way to see a list of all my past comments? A script, perhaps? That woudl help immensely.
I am well aware of ESGST comment history, unfortunately it only gos as far as the day you activated it which for me is really not long ago.
If there is no way at all I'm verry bummed about it and I think this should be a native feauture. I think this is a crucial feature to have in this day and age. It really sucks that I have to delete my entire account just to make sure anything I might have said is gone. Having access to data you posted especially when it's public seems to me like a no brainer and it should easy for every user to access their past posts.
Thanks for listening to my rent and have an excellent day!
