TLDR;

Game development is hard.

I was hoping for a Bioware comeback, but it isn't starting with Anthem apparently.

The comments are all hating EA. Bun in this case, it seems the fault lies basically with Bioware.

Yup, but not entirely. Lack of control from publisher is publisher's fault. They gave Bioware Carte Blanche and here's the result.

Plus they have been bleeding out Bioware for years now, expecting Mass Effect trilogy level quality with half the resources. Terrible management by EA.

I mean, half the time people critizise EA por controlling too much their studios and not leaving them to stick to their creative vision. And the other half people complain about the opposite?

i feel like EA stretched out anthem to avoid the embarassment of dropping the game so soon after launch, but yeah.. everyone knew the game was a dead duck before it even launched, and it was pretty clear it was never going to be salvageable and that all the plans and roadmap were bogus. no one was invested in genuinely fixing the game since it was rubbish at a core design level... cant fix a bad concept with a handful of patches.

but hey.. at least the game looked pretty. you'll always have that, bioware.. youll always have that :)

Last time I read EA said it will be forever supported and developed project as it is such a great game but they didn't have enough time to put everything that is great in it so they want to develop it as it is a live service experience that will be developed forever.

"Moving forward, we need to laser focus our efforts as a studio and strengthen the next Dragon Age, and Mass Effect titles while continuing to provide quality updates to Star Wars: The Old Republic."
I'm always sad to hear something negative from Bioware, I deeply love that studio but no one was really happy with Anthem.
I'm happy to hear that they are focusing on something that the fans really care about like ME and DA. They tried something new and failed, but hopefully, they'll learn from it and go back to their roots. It's like they are finally accepting it and starting to get their priorities straight. Here's hoping!

The initial trailer for this game (which turned out to be a mockup) looked fantastic, it's a shame the final product didn't live up to it.

Bioware is just an empty shell, relying on lies and deception to sell their crappy live services and other agenda games.
I am waiting for the next Dragon age and Mass effect to have a good laugh from that now garbage studio.
