You could flash a custom ROM, some of them are faster than stock.

The absolute best Android tablets are made by Sony.
The Xperia Z4 not only has WiFi, it also has a Nano-SIM slot for GSM connections.

It's an older model but still new so people think they can get a huge price for it.
eBay (auctions) would probably be the best place to get one from.

Not sure what your budget is. If you want something cheap, I believe the Nvidia Shield is still one of the better ones on the market.

Nvidia Shield K1 tablet is really good. for $200 you'll get an 1080p tablet running on Android Nougat with a Tegra processor. It's extremely fast but you'll have to buy the charger and the cover separately also it comes only with 16Gb of memory so you'll also need to buy a micro SD card. The battery life doesn't exceed 6 hours at best.

I have a Xiaomi MiPad 1, which also has the Tegra K1 processor, and the main problem this tablet has is that it was stuck in Android 4.4 (lately there have been some Marshmallow and Nougat roms made by the community, after Xiaomi at last released the sources, but they are still green). Nvidia Shield has to be even more optimized and polished, and of course taking advantage of all the features of the last version of Android

I'm an Amazon guy, so I've been using Kindle Fire tablets for a few years, and they are perfect for me...

Probably not that helpful, sorry!

I came to bump! I'm terrible with buying tablets. I always try to get the most for my dollar, unfortunately that means that my last two tablets kind of died. Not a fan of Ipads I guess? They are a bit pricey though.

I used to have an Apple iPad and it sucked balls, waste of money! I ended up getting a Kindle Fire as a gift and I think its awesome!

But this one looks great!
