Because clicking those eyes one by one is going to take a lot of time.

What priority do you think this should have?

View Results
High. This is a very useful feature that I'd like to see asap.
Medium. It's something I'd really like to see,but there's a fair number of other features I'd like to see beforehand.
Low. It'd be nice to see this somewhere along the road, but it could wait a few months.
Useless. Don't need it,we're better off getting other features done.

I'm guessing that that would only lead to a lot of abuse (free games), sadly the reality is that we have to do a lot of extra work thanks to a few bad apples.

I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing - I was referring to your personal,account-specific filters of games you don't want to see. Clicky

My bad, I thought you where talking about when you create a giveaway ^^
Haven't really entered for a giveaway in a long time so that option kinda slipped my mind, I did notice that CG implemented some of the SG+ features like hiding certain games (owned/not owned dlc) so shouldn't that mean that there's only a few rare exceptions you need to add?

SG+ also let me add games I'm not interested in,or games from a specific franchise(so I could create my own filters so I never see puzzle games,or never see anything from the Bioshock franchise.)

I have 300 games already in the filter, copy-pasting the urls would be much slower in my opinion.

Problem is you can't filter games that are not given away like this. I'm not saying remove the eyes,I'm just saying add more options.

It would be a nice feature to filter games like this, but it can wait in my opinion.

I can't really see the upside of this thing - you can hide something before even appearing? I understand if you want to hide for example Slaghtering Grounds or something abomination like that, but I don't think many people would actually sit down, look up some game database and copy-paste game URLs just to avoid seeing them once. (once, because they would obviously hide it asap)

I dont want to see any Assasins Creed gibaways, so i want to add it manually to filter-like in old SG+ as "Assassin's Creed*" with asteriks. So all games are 'blacklisted' in one

I also for see problem with games that have multiple store ids and then multiple bundles in steam store...

Shouldn't be a problem - bundles have their own url and games with multiple store ids usually have a reason for being there(e.g. one is only with russian voice acting, and one is with english - so adding one filter would block the english version or the russian version). If anything, multiple store ids may confuse people using the eye(you can mistake one game for another,if they have similar picture).

In the previous version, I could use SG+ to block entire keywords. So I didn't need to block each and every Call of Duty title, and instead just slap "Call of Duty" in the filter preferences and be done with it. I'm gonna miss that. Also, this filter system only works when new a GA is created for a title you don't care for. No pre-emptive filtering. And I don't know how one can flush the filter list entirely.

Also, reloading the page after every block. Not cool.

Also also, banking points is gonna be much, much harder now.

I've specified adding them by url since this seems to me the method the eyes filter is currently using,I'm assuming each time you load the open giveaways list the server fetches all ga data, first filters to what's valid for you to enter(e.g. doesn't display giveaways from groups you're not in),then looks at the list of what's left, and for each entry, fetches the store url of the game being given away, then matches it against your filter list. This means simply adding the ability to manually edit the filter list is at least 3 times less complicated than sg+,where rather than getting a list of urls and matching them one by with for another list of urls, you're using a list of substrings and searching for those in the titles of the games given away(which is more prone to errors, and likely uses more server resources.) While I do think it could be a nice addition,I also think that it's better off coming as a user extension and not as default feature.

Heck just making the conformation thing optional so that we only have 1 click to add games to the filters would be nice.

Or be able to click on a bunch of eyes and then hit a button to add all of them to the list at once.

Also being able to add all the games on saved lists we already have would be nice.

Adding games 1 by 1 via their url on steam, to me seems like it would take far longer as you would have to open up the page, get the url, copy it, come back to steamgifts and open up the part where you put in the url and then hit enter and wait.

Making it more like SG+ where it was a single click and it just vanished would be nice. I had well over 1200 games added to my SG+ list that I never wanted to see again.

I'd rather see an option to do away with the confirmation box you get after clicking the filter button (eye icon). That would speed things up a bunch, and feel more like SG+.

Like entering a giveaway, a single click on the eye icon -without the page reload- would be great.
